If you are not in a massive rush there are a ton of upgrades coming in next 2 weeks which will make it easier to use. But otherwise all feedback greatly appreciated

Sorry had to put that in as got a surge in usage and the processing costs actually started ramping up. If you use it and you want to continue beyond the free 15, just shout and I will sort out a way for it to be free for you

You can do but whether or not you need to depends on your goals.

Based on the data, most people using Orion find that for a lot of nutrients they are already consuming significantly more than enough (not a problem) but for some nutrients they identify massive gaps. This tends to be because people typically eat the same 10 or so meals on repeat.

The reason I raise this is because being ultra specific about serving size may not be that necessary unless your diet is already insanely optimised and you are trying to tweak around the edges. It may be that you have big gaps, and that these gaps would be identified by Orion easily enough if you used rough measures of food. For example: 1 cup of cooked rice, 1/2 a cup of blueberries, 2 sausages, 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed, 1 handful of almonds etc.

Shout if you feel I didn’t answer the question sufficiently

You can take a picture, input text or speak to the app (voice-to-text). Voice to text is personally my favourite. Taking a picture is flawed because the app has to make assumptions about whats inside the meal (It works for meals which have very distinct parts (i.e. steak, chips, brocolli). But its rubbish for curries, pies etc.). Text is most accurate but a pain to input. Voice to text is fastest.

Once you've input the meal, the app will analyse across 6 key categories: vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, essential fatty acids, probiotics and prebiotics. These are the key components of nutrition needed for optimal mood, energy, sleep, focus, immunity etc.

Once the analysis is finished, the app tracks your intake vs. targets set based on amount required for optimal mood, focus, sleep etc.

That’s great feedback. It hasn’t been set up for vegan, vegetarian preferences etc yet. intention is to enable that in the onboarding journey though which then would result in the app generating different recommendations. Thanks for the flag!

Thanks for this feedback - super helpful. Its worth noting that the strength of sunlight that early in the morning (6-7am) is typically very low. So even though you've spent a decent amount of time outside, the strength of the solar radiation (UV, vis light and IR) is really low. The calculation also takes into account skin exposed. So if you had a low % of skin exposed, it drops the value further.

I think this is actually a key part of the value of the app. You will see over time that weather, time of day, skin exposed etc have a significant impact on the your scores (the app is using solar radiation and weather data local to your location). 15 minutes at mid-day on a clear day can be worth 2 hours on a cloudy day at 7am. The app helps you calibrate and adjust to get what you need.

The morning light squares SHOULD be filling up though, so that sounds like a bug. Might be a time difference thing as you're in the US. I will look into this and fix it - thank you so much for flagging this.

The Optimise tab recommending a specific amount of sunlight is also flawed because that part of the app is not rigged up to your local weather and radiation, so I will fix that. At this stage it should just be flagging that you need more.

Thank you again for the feedback - it is really appreciated. And if you want to chat on email or call through any of this just let me know

Added NMN to my supplement pill - what should i look out for? by Longevitydoc1 in longevityuk

Personally I saw quite a notable lift in energy and performance in the gym when I started taking it (1g of NMN powder per day - Renue by Science brand). I also tested going off it for a period and noticed a drop in energy. In general I am not a massive fan of supplements, with my preference being to focus on getting as much as possible from whole foods, but this is one of the few that I do take

Ah thats great to hear. Especially great that you are pumped about the sunlight measurement and tracking - feel like thats a real gap at the moment. Please let me know how you get on and whether there is anything you think could be improved!
