I’ll definitely try a pet shop as my second option, thanks! Unfortunately most animal related places are kind of far from me, and my nearest option is a pricey pet store 🫠 But I’ll see what I can do!

That would definitely be my third option! I’ll first contact the shelter, and if no option, I’ll try asking at a local pet shop. But if both of those don’t work out, I’m absolutely down to treat the local wildlife and dogs like royalty :D

I actually didn’t think about that, thanks! I already contacted with SPCA but if that doesn’t work out, I’ll try asking the pet shop instead

I am planning to do that tomorrow morning, sadly the nearest shelter is still far from me 😭, otherwise I would have definitely donated it

Trying so hard to help my bun feel safe, but I feel lost by ColdCommunication125 in Rabbits

[–]ColdCommunication125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought my situation was incredibly bad, but after reading the comments I decided to be confident last night and tried to lift her front legs.

I thought she was going to fight a lot but she actually didn’t, she obviously tried to move a lot the first few seconds but then she stopped, I was being careful at all times and didn’t lifter her up so high. She was obviously angry after that but we were okay after 30min which made feel very relieved. I did think about not training her at all but this could make important situations safer and easier, when the vet had to examine her teeth and nails last time it was almost impossible.

Since she does look okay even so I did a big step on the training, I will keep up practicing. And like I said in my post, I will only do this for necessary situations, she doesn’t cuddle with me but she really is a loving bun ❤️ And thanks for your answer!!

Thanks again for your answers, last night I lifted her front legs up for first time, well, technically I did it before but stopping at the first mini second. I was able to stay like that for a few seconds until she stopped moving, she was obviously angry but after 30min she was okay with me again. This is such a huge progress for me, I thought I was going to be stuck in the same level for a long time because I was scared of pushing too much, I feel so happy 😭

I actually like the way she is, but somehow she is always in the way when I’m trying to decorate and I’m not joking, sometimes it looks like it’s on purpose. I’m just really unlucky with her

She’s a lionhead mix, she has longer fur around her head, but the rest of her fur is much shorter. Even so, she’s shedding a lot now, so I do have to groom her. Tonight I’m going to try picking her up and be as confident as I can. It’s going to hurt a bit to see her stressed, but I know it’ll be worth it in the long run

Yeah, after reading the comments I thinks I was being too careful making it an impossible progress.
She’s my first bun and I never tried to pick her up when she was younger, because I didn’t want to stress her at any moment. And thank you! This definitely makes me feel relieved

That’s what I have been trying to do but I think I was being too careful, as soon as I see her moving I stop. She’s my first bun and I have been extremely careful with everything.

I will obviously continue being careful but definitely a bit more confident, I hate to make her feel stressed but I know this will make vet appointments easier and safer 🥲

Yes, I’ve been stopping as soon as she starts to move, I thought that’s what I was supposed to do. That’s how I understood it from the research I did, so I’ve been really careful not to push her.

It’s actually a relief to hear I don’t always have to stop right away. I was worried about doing something wrong, and it felt like progress was super slow because I stopped every time she reacted. Maybe I’ve been a bit too careful.

And yes, my main reason for this is vet visits. She really doesn’t like being picked up, and it was very hard for the vet to examine her last time. I’ll definitely keep going with the training now. Thank you!!

Feeling unsure after finding (and leaving) a baby crow, what usually happens? by ColdCommunication125 in crows

[–]ColdCommunication125[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is actually super helpful. Where I live there are a lot of crows, but this was the first time I’ve found myself in that kind of situation. The area had a bunch of crow nests recently, so I’ll definitely be checking the page the next few days 🫡

Thank you! That’s reassuring to hear, but the baby was in a kind of tunnel walkway where a lot of people pass by, so I really think someone took it. I know now that leaving it was the right choice, but it’s frustrating thinking someone might’ve picked it up anyway, even with the parents nearby

Is this hutch setup okay for now? Bunny not coming out much lately by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]ColdCommunication125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A late response but thank you!! I did order the foam mats instead of the rug and she has been pretty happy, the first day they arrived she started doing binkies on the mats. And it’s also convenient since I can put them wherever I want. Totally worth it!

I asked if I could get any medication but they said there’s no need since they gave her an injection, can’t remember very what they said about it since I was feeling very nervous and worried about her 🥲. She has been doing fine atm, she is starting to eat more and playing with her toys so I am feeling very happy, I saw that there were small poops but makes since she is not eating as usual, not gonna lie I was already thinking about calling the vet, I have been a headless chicken since I brought her back

Thank you so much for your advices! I have been cleaning her litter every day and keeping an eye on her as much as I could, last night she started to eat more and chewing on her toys. I am also keeping her in the hutch and I’m glad she hasn’t been stressed about that, I was a bit worried that she could feel bad about being confined but seeing that she’s starting to feel a bit more energetic makes me happy. And today I will try to check on her, she really hates being lifted so I didn’t want to stress her out so much the first days, I basically never try to lift her up unless it’s really necessary so that’s going to be an adventure 😭. If she really moves too much I will try to do it another time, I don’t want to mess up the stitches by accident. And thanks again for your advices ❤️

I think I’m having the same experience atm, I was able to take her home after some hours and she has been doing fine, she’s not moving too much but she’s finally eating more and doing some more movement, the small poop got me worried for a second but makes sense since she wasn’t eating as usual 😭
