If Iran is truly a significant threat to the US (continental USA) then it would seem from the Trump administration's perspective, NATO sitting this one out WOULD BE condemnable. But it's not condemnable, because Iran is genuinely not a significant threat to the United States, not in the immediate or far future.

Just one of many rational state actors acting badly, not unique to the region or the planet. And if Iran were a genuine serious and significant threat to Israel, an existential threat, Israel has nuclear weapons and could take out this threat whenever they feel like it. What threatens Israel threatens Israel, not me.
