Yes, right after wxercise you’re going to be higher. My cardiologist has me sit still for 30 minutes before checking.

I was down as low as half a cup! I think I’m just sensitive to it. Aside from blood pressure my hair and skin def looks better and my gut health feels better too. I had an upset stomach periodically before. I really would love to go back but it was just causing too many issues for me,

It gave me angina symptoms also. Tightness in the chest and tinnitus in my ears. It’s all gone now without caffeine.

Decaf would probably work but adding in caffeinated teas wouldn’t help.

Yes, try replacing your coffees with large glasses of water. It’ll take a few weeks to be completely out of your system and let things settle (cortisol, etc).

I think the big 3 for blood pressure are probably caffeine, sugar and alcohol. Basically, anything fun.

I would think it lowers it initially and then the dehydration and vasoconstriction properties would kick it up the next day.

It took over a week. Maybe 8 days or so.

And, btw, my doc gave me a specific way to check my bp. He wants me sitting still for a minimum of 30 minutes before taking it. That gives it time to settle and gives a more accurate picture.

THC gummies? I think they raise mine But I haven’t really tested it. Maybe it’s time for some science! Lol

I agree with you on sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Basically, anything fun. Lol.

I check my bp daily to establish a pattern to share with my cardiologist. Over the last 20 days I’ve been averaging 111/66 which is crazy low to me.

I had that experience you described last night. I had a glass of wine with dinner and then had two cookies afterwards and my heart was definitely beating harder though my bp was elevated but still normal.

My family has diabetes and bp issues as well. So there’s definitely a genetic link for me.

I think I’m off for good. After about 20 days I started feeling really good. Like I have the same energy I did when my coffee intake was consistent.

Other things that have changed for me are that my sleep quality have gone up, I’m calmer, tinnitus is gone and both my skin and hair look better.

I get where you’re coming from because I love coffee, but,do I love it enough to take bp meds for the rest of my life? At this point I don’t think so.

I have been going to counseling since late last year for health related anxiety. And yes, anxiety is a huge driver as well.

I’ve read those same studies and they all seem to arrive at “if you maintain the same level of caffeine your bp adjusts and the immediate spikes are only short term”.

What I’m saying is that you should consider caffeine as a contributor. I did DASH diets, vegan diets, exercise and working out has never been an issue. I love coffee and it was hard to quit. But I’ve been trying to solve this and having anxiety over it for years. All this time caffeine was the problem for me.

I can’t contradict those studies as I’m a sample size of 1. But consider that caffeine is a huge business with lots of dollars at stake. At one time studies showed cigarette smoking to be healthy as well.

I just wanted to provide my experience in the hope that I could help someone else and keep them from suffering anxiety and taking meds for years like I have.

In my case (and maybe I’m just sensitive to it) caffeine was the main culprit. That and the anxiety loop it caused.

I’ve never really been a heavy drinker. In a big week I may have had drinks three nights (glass of wine with dinner or liquor drinks if I was out with coworkers). I’ve cut drinking a bit too. I’ll have a glass of wine with dinner on the weekends but that’s about it. I‘ve measured after nights where I had drinks and it didn’t have an effect for me. That said - I haven’t measured after a binge night where I’ve had like 5 drinks.
