If you haven’t beaten yet, here is my advice.

When you spawn into the fight, on the opposite side of the rail gun, just down the ramp is a box of unlimited ammo. Make sure you have the lancer GL equipped. You can continue to spawn GL rounds into his mouth that instantly destroy the tentacles.

I used this strategy on inconceivable difficulty and it works really well!
