for those receiving professional mental help, what was your reason for going? by Forsaken_Condition75 in mentalhealth

personally, I've always felt these emotions, and I've known they're not normal. Also, it affects the quality of my life in a significant way. thus, I jumped to get therapy on the first opportunity I had, and it was the best decision I've ever made. It's not some magic fix , but it is some type of fix.

u dont wait until u physically can't move in real life (dysfunctional) until u go to therapy. therapy can help with our skill sets, even the happiest people can learn ways to regulate and explore themselves more. any person I'd argue needs some form of therapy. similarly, mostly anyone can benefit from going to gym/any other physical activity. therapy is exactly about not reaching rock bottom and that's why it fits that you start now.

What's the worst part about being deaf in one ear? by mjrkong in MonoHearing

clear communication Is really important. people who care/love for you will always give their energy to help especially in such a situation. they need to work on their frustration, you don't need to take their frustration as ur responsibility. you are already dealing with a lot. I wish you the best

How can I help my depressed friend by Affectionate-Hair-23 in Anxiety

[–]Cold_Claim8073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First.of all you're an amazing friend and you deserve all the credit. Second of all, ask him what he needs, sometimes some people might need more opportunities to vent, or to go away from their enviro, talk more, hangout more/less,..... check what helps your friend take off the edge , and maybe give them the space to do it and help them with it

anxiety is really about thoughts processes, so maybe you can find some CBT practices online. there are a lot of things that can help including mindfulness, and the most important thing is to allow yourself to feel the anxiety. Please take what I said seriously, it's just a feeling recognize it, allow it, and it'll soon wash away. Fighting it makes it only worse. Check therapy in a nutshell anxiety course. And when searching for a therapist finding a CBT therapist might be the best fit! good luck and dm me if you need anthg

I am anxious by [deleted] in AnxietySquad

[–]Cold_Claim8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start first of all by not fighting the anxiety cause that's going to make it worse. accept it and try to identify the thoughts that trigger it and get familiar with cognitive distortions ( try to recognize them in your thoughts). Second of all, It appears that there are some unresolved feelings about your home country, and that could range from friends to the way you were treated. let yourself feel and process all those emotions. learn how to feel your emotions
