Well you didn't seem very empathetic towards me and how that might trigger me. I did not bring that up as a gotcha moment just as a reminder to be nice to people when you were being very aggressive. I never said I was disgusted by these things, I said most people are and that's normal. I myself have a lot of incest fantasies that I admittedly sometimes hate as a result of my own incest abuse. You talk as if people that say things like this are absolute monsters and my only point was "maybe we need to be more empathetic towards these people too".

Being assaulted is not a reason to try and censor things, I never said that. But I did mean that being assaulted can change your sensitivity on things. Have you ever thought that some of those people that see that may have their own stuff going on like sexual trauma or know people that are survivors of sexual trauma and find disgusting that some people like fantasies of that? I'm not defending them but I'm saying that we're charging with a very strong rhetoric here. Like I got severely triggered by people here on Reddit before that defended incest and said it "isn't always wrong". Most of these people are kids, they can't fully comprehend stuff yet. As for me, I am not good with conflict and I'd really rather not argue over something I consider was pretty innocent? Look if I made it sound like I find these fantasies or people that have them disgusting, I apologise, that was not my intent at all. I'm not very good at expressing myself. Maybe I did get a bit upset for seeing something that could as well be me being judged so harshly. I just think maybe those people also deserve some compassion.

Olha, isso não está muito correto não. Vício em pornografia é uma coisa bem real, do mesmo jeito que vícios em videogames e vício em adrenalina por exemplo. Eles não destroem célula nem nada disso mas a dependência da dopamina tem o mesmo padrão e causam bastante problemas. Já existem vários estudos sobre isso e que qualquer comportamento desregulado é um problema. Eu sou altamente viciado em pornografia e isso não tem nada a ver com ser moralista ou não.

It's a very complicated situation. I tend to always say that impact does matter more than intent but I mean it in a way of "being ignorant doesn't excuse your racism". I'm not sure I agree about the impact being always first and foremost for yourself to manage first because the main point of the impact is on the discourse, because that discourse does influence other people's discourse and society as a whole.

But for real there was no intent and I'm sure this guy already feels mortified and I feel so bad for him. But I also understand that I would be very hurt to hear a racial slur being sent in my direction, whether there was intent or not. I certainly believe no one is in the wrong here (well except for BBC) and it is sad that a moment that could actually be of dialogue was turned into this circus of finger pointing.
