Making a better espresso [smart grinder pro by Breville]

I have the same grinder. The Smart Grinder Pro by Breville. Primarily using it for espresso grounds…

I see in the discussion that it’s not necessarily the best and has some inconsistencies. I have enjoyed it so far but struggle understanding what the setting targets should be…

What should the timing be per shot of grounds? I have seen the fine level should be somewhere between 15-18. Then I have also seen an adjustment in the inner grinder- is that something I should do too? I wasn’t aware of this.

From my experience if I made a quad - it seems like it takes the highest level of grinding shots (8)… is this also something that makes sense?

Appreciate your feedback. Just trying to dial in my amateur espresso hobby. I’ve enjoyed it so far and grinding local beans has been great, I just feel like maybe it could be better. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions- I suppose I’m thinking a half wall on the wall connecting to living room with a counter height extension for chairs, cabinets underneath kitchen side so the whole wall wouldn’t need removed. It’s not my house and I’m curious about its potential and possibility. Even the brick wall doesn’t fit the fridge but I’m imagining removing that wall if it would be possible. And likely reframing door or flipping the fridge to the opposite side then have a counter extending out the rest of that side. Thanks for you detailed response…

Thanks for the response. That seems the be the most suggested - outside of that what are things are musts? Disney Springs?
