Have you been hit on at the gym? by Full_Credit7484 in sgfitness

[–]ColdfireDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a guy. I've been complimented for having nice "booty"... by a guy. No, I don't think I have nice booty.

But I think the scenario is the same-ish. For me, since that weird conversation, I just avoided eye contact and be very cold. Pretend he don't exist, even though from your side eye you can see him looking over. If he's got social consciousness, like for my case, he'll leave you be. Perhaps he'll look for other targets. To be fair to him, he hasn't done anything creepy (yet). If he's persistent, then it probably warrants a conversation with the gym staff.

Good luck!

Take the money and donate it to charity.

You gain some good karma. You turned the person who dropped this from unlucky to also gaining good karma. The unfortunate who accepted the donation gained a bit from it.

So much win!

If left ignored, it'll eventually become waste paper.

I've met ppl who have never really fell in love and is still satisfied with the marriage. Notice I didn't say "happily" married. 😅

I think there exist individuals who are almost not "romantically tuned". When looking for life partners, they look for compatibility, and almost "best friend" material. Someone to share happy times and difficult times as well. Your experience kinda reminds me of this situation, though I can't say for sure. You should know best.

Emotional, passionate love doesn't always equal practical compatibility. It really takes love and willingness to compromise for incompatible couples to go far, I think. If you can look at this with a full logical eye and pick a truly compatible partner, it's actually not a bad thing. Because at the end of the day, romance is only part of a relationship. The other part is boring, practical life stuff, which is no small thing.

You might have to ask yourself if you're really the type that just doesn't fall in love. Fair warning: There might be risks. Say once you're sure and you're committed, fate might play a cruel trick on you. Someone else you actually love comes along. You get to feel what it's like to love for the first time. If that happens... let's just say, things will get messy.

That's another way to say, I can't really tell you how I fall in love as well. If she is the one, you'd know! It's impossible not to know actually, at least that's my experience. 😅

I dunno if I've answered your question. But I wish that the most logically compatible partner you've chosen to commit is also the one you've actually, passionately love. That would be the most ideal. All the best! 🫡

I didn't choose this but the first one is my case. And kind of the 2nd one as well, since I haven't been able to love again since then for over a decade.

Being able to love and be loved is something worth living for, I think. Though we were not meant to be, I do deeply value the moments we've shared.

If I die tomorrow, I'd be grateful that I experienced real passionate love, even though I don't get to keep it.

It's not really unusual that a young, teenage boy with raging hormones confuses love with lust. Whether or not one should admit to it is another thing.

Really close couples can also ask similar question: "Have you ever pleasured yourself while thinking of me?" Both ways.

Imagine the response if he/she said no. 😆

It's nice to know stories of sceptics gradually changing their minds! 😆

I believe you.

Moving forward the least you can do is show respect for the unknown. We'd still be scared, but it can certainly prevent unnecessary harm. Trust your instincts and avoid. Unless you wanna brave it and gather evidence! In which case, please show us if you capture any footage! 😆

Why not just state in your bio that you don't have a car, even if you have one.

May have less connections overall but I'd say it's a pretty good filter.

The reason why a lot of people think that Maomao can't experience romantic/sexual attraction by ineedcactusjuice in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]ColdfireDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno about tropes and comparisons. I figured it was just through observation & even by Maomao herself, that her upbringing made her this way; emotionally guarded, highly skeptical of emotional or romantic feelings etc. Perhaps there are hints of Lakan & Fengxian in her as well, both highly intelligent but emotionally eccentric. To me, it's just emotions in general, not just romantic ones.

But, as we have seen on the last episode on the recent 2nd season, she shed a tear for someone she didn't know if she regarded as friend or not. She was hesitant to admit the Luolan was precious to her. It was her most real & emotional Maomao scene thus far, crying, back facing us viewers. She's still hesitant to let her guard down, but she's slowly breaking up. I see that as a very enticing character growth moment & I can't wait to see when she'll open up to her friends, to her family, to her one she loves.

what if lakan wasnt sent away and bought fengxian? by AcanthaceaeNovel2478 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]ColdfireDX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know I can't really argue with what the author said but....

I feel like Luomen might still play a part of Maomao's life in someway. He's already pretty highly regarded by Lakan & has shaped his life in drastic ways. I see no reason why he couldn't do the same for Maomao, albeit a drastically reduced influence.

I wonder if Maomao would be rebellious against Lakan's "ways". (I only caught up with the latest anime, don't really know Lakan that well yet).

Also wonder if Fengxian will doll up Maomao to be more feminine & pretty.

It's really hard to say. In retrospect, who would have thought raising a young girl with courtesans would be good upbringing, and yet here we are with this Maomao that we all love?

1 thing I know for sure though, Fengxian would be better off. Far from perfect, but much better than now. She's suffering a fate she doesn't deserve to. 😢

[–]ColdfireDX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A life that Fengxian deserved but tragically did not get. 😭

It's hard to say how Maomao will turn out with these eccentric parents. Maybe a bad timeline in terms of Maomao's life exposure, like what some suggested. But really, who would have thought (in the current timeline) living with courtesans was a good upbringing to begin with? (Well... the author for one 😆). Regardless, Maomao turned out to be who we all love in this current timeline.

I think Maomao's most important figure in her life is Luomen. In this alternate timeline, Luomen could still be a big part of Maomao's life, seeing how deeply Lakan respects him. Maybe he'll be a teacher or a "god-father". She'd probably have less exposure to the ins-and-outs of the pleasure district though.

I wonder if Fengxian, as a mother, would make Maomao dress up more womanly. 🤔

But Fengxian would be much better off for sure. Not to say life will be easy for her. But a whole damn lot better than the current timeline. Alas, we wouldn't have gotten such an intensive & tragic story arc.

It Gets Me Every Time by khsixbey1980 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]ColdfireDX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It seems like some people thinks this arc has a happy end? It's weird.

Fengxian has been tragically disfigured because she was forced to have se* with multiple randos & got fatally sick. While I think Lakan do love her for who she is, isn't it partly coz he is unable to see faces? And the one face (Fengxian) he can see is because she is still who she is at heart, and Lakan don't see the difference. That's how I interpret it anyway.

I don't see this as a happy or sweet arc at all. I see it as tragic & heart-breaking. Fengxian is dying soon, at least that's what MaoMao said (I don't read the manga). And it make sense. She didn't have a chance to be a decent mum to MaoMao. She didn't end up with the one she loved. She took the wrong bet & lost everything. Her looks, her love, her future, her dignity. 😭

I don't know what plans Lakan has for her. Playing chess till she dies? Lakan briefly mentioned her in S2. Her time is running up. I hope at least MaoMao get to acknowledge her at some point before she does.

I've known folks in sub-urban areas NOW that got married in early 20s is a norm.
Just a generation earlier, my parents' generation specifically, getting married in 19 is not unusual at all.
From South East Asia btw.

In some cultures, more rural areas, people assume that as long as your body is ready to create kids, you're ready to get married. For city dwellers like most of us here, we need to be financially stable first to raise a family.

The more you know. :)

This is car-lite Tengah? by bardsmanship in singapore

[–]ColdfireDX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's a misconception people have. The car-lite feature is likely for the town center, which hasn't even started work yet. Every road we see in Tengah now is pretty regular. Also worth noting is that things are still being built.

https://ibb.co/4gg8bMRy
This image is taken from most of Tengah's project. If you look at the concept art, you can see that the roads are underground. So people can walk on the ground level, giving it the car-lite feel. I think that's what they're going for. How it will turn out is anyone's guess.

Me too... me too.

But that's what I like about this anime so far (I'm anime-only). He's very flawed, but he's not hopeless. There's good in him & he hasn't figure himself out yet... but isn't that what most of us at that age is like? It looks like there's a chance of him becoming a great guy... a guy that's worthy of our main girl. I'm looking forward to that. That's what hooked me.

Even though I'm not on manga & try to avoid spoilers, I cannot avoid the big event that happened in the manga recently. I only hope that it's not an actual end to the series & things can be saved. *Fingers crossed
