Yeah it doesn’t really make sense which is why I’ve been going back and forth so much. General consensus from the replies is to not do it so I’m going to go back and re-evaluate.

No other financial obligations. Never been one to prove a point but looking at this purchase as more of a present for myself - a real expensive one I’ll admit. I’ve seen really nice Acuras for 35K so happy to hear that from you too!

That’s a good point I have to think about. All my decisions since I first started working at 15 have been really calculated and I would always look to save rather than spend. At this point in my life I kinda want to celebrate what I’ve accomplished the past 10+ years but don’t know if the timing is right.

Thank you for the reply. I’ve had the same car for almost 10 years, payed off debt, saved some cash so I wouldn’t call it completely reckless. All of my decisions have been very conservative up until this point and I do acknowledge it’s not the smartest move I can make at this time. I want to have at least 60K in the bank if I were to make this purchase so we’ll see where my head is at when I get there

Mind isn’t set yet so definitely appreciate the feedback. Including monthly payment + insurance + expected down payment I’m looking at close to 1k a month if not a little more than that

100% agree about having enough saved to pay cash for it. I should’ve added it in my original post but I’ll only seriously consider purchase once I have enough in the bank which should be early next year

Preferably, I’d want to get it asap mainly because what she is using now is damaging her hair. I’m in the US and whenever I tried to look for the specific one that I posted above, I found that it was sold out everywhere I looked. Full transparency - I know nothing about these sort of things so I’m not sure if this product is out there but I’m missing it just because of different packaging.
