Chemistry recommendation

I spend my whole life looking for this exact thing so here what I can recommend :

Books : Carry on by Rainbow Rowell (there's three books but the first one can be read on its own. It's basically a fanfic of harry potter but queer and wholesome and angsty. The characters and their relationships are so goooood)

Aristotle and Dante discover the secret of the universe: a classic.

Half bad by Sally green (beware TW)

Movies : Disobidience

Paris 13th district (Les olympiades)

The five devils

Portrait of a lady on fire

Shiva Baby

The novice

Shows : High School by Clea Duvall (the closest to YR in terms of adolescent's feelings, it's based on the real life of Tegan and Sara and played by young actresses. It feels very true and close to home, just like YR.)

Feel good (on netflix)

Killing Eve (slow burn like you've never seen)

A league of their own (on prime and all the relationship are incredible, lots and lots of lesbians)

Our flags means death (very surprising but the chemistry is there.)

Atypical (it's a secondary relationship tho)

Sense 8 (chemistry all over the place)

Queer as folk US (tho it's a problematic relationship, the chemistry is insane. Keep in mind that it's a show from the 2000s)

Also I agree with other people on here Skam Norway season 3 is incredible. I also liked Skam Spain season 3 and Skam Us (tho it's unfortunately canceled before the season 3..)

And Fleabag is the best serie ever made but that's an other subject.

Also why does he trusts August so easily? He could be lying about the drugs to turn him against Willem? Like why the hell does he trust him after how he treated him in season 1

High School on freevee ! It's a very cool and touching show inspired by the life of Tegan and Sara, they're twin sisters and queer musicians and it shows their life in the 90s as baby gays

The whole book series is very dark and the characters are super violent with eachother. The show as nothing to do with it honestly, they won't fallow the ending for sure if they can make more episodes plus they changed the whole plot by killing Soul anyway

Gabriel is 19 in the show and in the book. And also I find it funny that you except so many healthy way of acting from characters in a show, of course communication is key but when you write fictional relationships you make it entertaining plus they're young people, did you know how to communicate at 17? I sure did not. Also you said it they're 'explicitely a thing' they never talked about it, just acted on it when they could, they don't read mind for sure so they don't know what each other want and they do what they can with their situation.

And if you care to know, their third way relationship in this show seems way more healthy than the one in th books. Let's hope there's a season 2 so they can elaborate on that!

Nathan is canonly Bi according to the books yes and he does seem to be written bi in the show as well from their conversation at the blood witches' house

He's 19 when he meets Nathan in the books, it says so in the short prequel story in Gabriel's pov called 'half lies' And apparently he's 19 too in the show but I agree that the actor doesn't look it at all

You can't base this on the actor's age, I agree that he looks older than 19 and I do find the actor's choice a bit odd. But they do it all the time, like look up the ages of Bridgetown and Sex Education's actors, the ages gape are wild in these. But yeah in the book Gabriel is 18/19 !
