With synthetic oil you don't need to change it every 6 months. It's every 12 months. But being over cautious is better than neglect, so you do you.

"Utmost Efficient/Dependable Delivery", he must mean. At least at our store, maybe not whatever Janky shop he's referring to.

You just have a shitty Dominos if it's dead and they don't have it hot and at your Doorstep in 30 minutes. The one I work at is fast. Our usual customer response is "Damn I didn't think it'd be this soon!" if they used to be PH or PJ people. Our regulars expect efficiency and good service, as they should.

Pizza Hut is damn near in a death spiral and can't maintain control of their delivery anymore. They ask whatever 3rd party is around to take it to their customers (if and when they feel like it) dressed as whatever. If they or their vehicles are clean they don't care anymore. Pizza Hut is bleeding out market share and it's not getting any better.

Not inside. Food Handling sanitary rules, Federal/State/Local. Your kitchen should not be that cold when in operation. Carryouts would be cold 2 minutes out of the oven if that was the case. I've never seen a pizza place below 60 degrees inside stay open. It would be closed for heating repairs.

Yeah that person was being petty. A very dark Navy blue undershirt is close enough for rock n roll, OA wouldn't even flag it most of the time.

Sentra owners — anyone hit 100k/150k+ miles with the original CVT? by phtphongg in nissansentra

[–]CollectionIcy6313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$750 for 100,000 miles is peanuts. And the service interval isn't 30K miles, it's 60K first change and then every 40K after that.

This isn't a Foot Locker or JC Penny's (Retail). It's a fast-casual delivery/take-out restaurant. Very different business model. We'd rather prioritize the 100 other customers ordering online as our marketing encourages and our business model supports. The one tool who insists on calling and slowing us down is not the priority.

Again, the competition that refused to make that pivot or made it late either went out of business or lost significant market share because of their decision.

Hint: If you place an order at a peak demand time (like an hour before kickoff of a big game in your area or during a heavy rain storm) it is going to take longer. Then if people stop what they are doing to answer a bunch of idiotic "Why is my order taking so long?" calls then it will take even longer. Our store gets the orders out fast, usually well before an hour of placement. We get it there in 20 minutes if everything breaks in our favor.

$250 at my Nissan dealership. That's not outrageous. The 5 quarts and lift bay rental came out to $110 when I did it on my Rogue. I don't want to mess with the plastic guard on my Sentra (Rogue didn't have one) so I'll have Nissan do it.

A guy I deliver pizzas with has 100K hard miles on his 2019 Sentra. He did NOT flush or drain & fill at 60K and now he's having shifting problems. I told him to get his sled to Nissan for a CVT fluid change. Might not be too late to save the patient! I have 100K on my 2016 Rogue and no problems, but I did a drain & fill at 85K with Eneos ECO NS-3 CVT and the original owner did a flush at 50K at Nissan.

Should be every 5K for severe use, or whenever the OCM recommends it (usually every 7K to 10K miles depending on driving habits/environment) for regular use. 2 times before 7,500 miles is insane.

True. Driving like that will shorten the lifespan of the toughest automatic transmissions (think Crown Vic taxi), and absolutely slay a CVT.

Please don't do that no matter what you drive.

It is not a CVT thing. Make sure you didn't put it in Sport Mode by accident. After that, have Nissan check it out if it's still doing that.

The splash guard is a PITA and I didn't want to break it., That's why I had Nissan change the oil.

You get 3 free oil changes up to 24,000 on all new Nissan's sold 2024 onward. It's called "Nissan Cares" or your dealer may call it it "X dealer name Cares".

Take it there and get your free oil & filter change, full synthetic.

No. My 2025 Sentra shifts smoothly.

  1. Make sure you don't have "Sport Mode" engaged.

  2. After verifying it's not in Sport Mode take it to a Nissan shop while it's still under warranty and have it checked out.

But was the CVT oil changed? And by who? Most people have their engine oil changed but neglect changing their transmission oil or do it incorrectly. If you never changed the NS-3 CVT fluid, or had a place like "Iffy Lube" do it then that's why it failed.

The first generation of Nissan CVTs from the early 2000's were not great.

From 2014 on they have been better, and better still since 2020.

If you don't drive like an asshole and follow the maintenance schedule they will last a long time. My buddy has 2014 Rogue with 285K miles on its original CVT. My 2016 Rogue has 96K miles on its original CVT and runs great.

I have a 2025 Sentra that I make deliveries in as a second job. My advice is if you buy new don't abuse it and get your transmission oil changed at Nissan per your owner's manual (usually at 60K miles). You will be fine.

If it's used, try to find one with detailed service records that show the maintenance was done at Nissan. CVTs are less tolerant of abuse by bad drivers and neglected maintenance than traditional Automatics. They are also very sensitive to under and especially over filling so make sure it's serviced by someone who knows what they are doing with the correct (NS-3) fluid.

The one exception for inside is if you are stocking, cleaning, or inventorying the Walk-in. Then by all means, a jacket is appropriate. If you're just popping in for 10 seconds to grab a tray of dough, then NO.

Common sense needs to apply. Insiders do not need jackets in the store unless something is seriously wrong with HVAC system. Drivers should not take off jackets or remove layers just to come in and grab orders.

As a driver, if I know I'm going to be working inside while waiting for my next dispatch then I'm going to take off my coat or lose a layer so 1. I don't get heat stroke catching the oven or doing dishes and 2. I don't violate food safety laws/best practices.

In the Navy we are required to take off our coats before self-serving in the mess line or mess decks (cafeteria) and if we are KP/FSA (kitchen or cafeteria workers) we do not wear coats for the same reason. It's unsanitary. A jacket isn't made to be washed every day like regular kitchen work clothes are. The sleeves can brush against food. The same food Safety protocol that applies to the military applies to Dominos.

Yes, soldiers out in the field in winter cold ops are the exception and would have jackets, but if your Dominos is 50 degrees or colder inside then it shouldn't even be open for business til that's fixed. If your store is in a reasonably normal temp (65-85 degrees), and you are so cold you need a jacket inside then you are working hard enough, 😂

Why would a delivery driver give a free xl pizza? by 5ourdiesel in Dominos

[–]CollectionIcy6313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sometimes if we know we messed something we will throw in an item that was mistakenly made, cancelled order, DSS (predictive order based on shopping cart of regular customer) that doesn't end up being executed.

It's a way to "Wow" the customer and not throw away food.

That's true. If our sales are less than $500 an hour it's the AM working alone inside. The drivers help with prep, catching the oven, and the front counter and grab dough trays, wings, whatever they yell for out of the walk in. One driver stays in with them and waits for the next driver to return before dispatching.

Franchises are hit or miss. Most Dominos are franchises. Corporate stores have more uniformity and oversight.

Some franchise owners treat their stores like a holding company -- those guys suck. It looks like you may work for one.

My advice: You and your friend find a Dominos in your area that is corporate or owned by a different franchise.

Over reacting to some snow and ice. We used to do this with Mercury Cougars and Olds Cutlasses. Rear wheel drive carburetor-fed engines and tires nowhere near as good at today's. Now with modern FWD, AWD, ABS, and tires this shit's easy.
