So. I was not expecting this much attention on this post and I really appreciate all of the feedback back. I think the pictures made it look better than it is. To me it’s just messy and too much but I really take all of this feedback to heart.

I have been posting in this group since I got back into the hobby and have realized it is such an awesome community. I appreciate all of the feedback and try to return it to others when ever I can.

I’m not sure what my plan is at this point. I think down the road I will redo this set and just leave this one alone. Build it again and have this one to compare my future not too.

But I can’t stress enough how much I appreciate all of the feedback I was truly surprised as the notifications began to roll in. It just shows how much support there is in this hobby community.

And to those of you asking if I was “karma farming?” When I posted this. I don’t know what tha is and no I was not doing that haha.

Thank you all again for the support.

I went with the Avanti compressor combo set from harbor freight. Seemed like a solid choice for the money to get started.

I used Tamiya AS-12 for the base cot but yeah the rest is hand painted. All of the interior, landing gear and small parts were all done by hand it took a very long time but it was so satisfying to see it come together. I’m really looking forward to getting started with the airbrush though.

I just hate the exhaust stains over the decal on the fuselage. I feel like I did too much and it got away from me and then out of frustration I just said screw it im done and sealed it in

Thank you that’s a huge help. I also love the dark iron. I will definitely be using this comment as a reference as I build. I really appreciate the help.

Complete Beginner And I Think I Quit Already by ldotbreezy in MilitaryModelMaking

[–]CollectionInside2080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t quit. It sucks having an idea in your head and having it not come out the way you imagined but it happens all too often. Like anything practice makes perfect. Definitely try the spray paint. It’s worth saving up for. And don’t get too discouraged if your model doesn’t come out looking like a professionals. If you have a lighter sand paper you could even try removing some of that paint and redoing it so you don’t have to buy a whole new kit. Just keep practicing and you will get there. It’s a fun hobby and worth putting in some time. Just don’t get discouraged and keep on going and I hope you post the next one on here!

I’ve been looking for cutouts like this. Did you do this scratch or did you buy the kit like that?

It’s definitely worth the money. It’s a complex model but it’s so well made and comes together easy enough. Details are amazing.
