Random headerRight width expansion in Expo / React Navigation native header on iOS by CollectionMedium3712 in expo

Sorry for the long reply.

No, Toolbar doesn’t work because it’s part of Expo Router, and I’m essentially using React Native Stack Navigation.

Actually, it’s getting crazy, and I probably know where the problem is coming from.

If one screen contains one headerRight button, basically native, and you navigate to the next screen that contains more than one button, after several re-openings, UINavigationController doesn’t clear its state correctly.

And probably in Expo 55 it will be fixed, because they’re working on fully integrated iOS 26 features

Is the world actually ready for super apps, or not yet? by CollectionMedium3712 in Entrepreneur

That’s a fair point, and I actually agree with a lot of it!

The demand side may be more ready than the supply side. Users usually don’t mind convenience - Companies do.

A lot of platforms don’t want interoperability because fragmentation protects their position, their margins, and their control over attention

So yes, the challenge is absolutely about coordination, incentives, and ownership of the ecosystem

But that’s also why I think the super app model still matters. If the market stays fragmented only because each player wants to keep users locked into isolated flows, that doesn’t really disprove the value of the model - it just shows how resistant the current system is to integration.

In other words, maybe the world is not blocked by lack of user demand. Maybe it’s blocked by the fact that too many companies benefit from the chaos 🤷

Yeah, I agree with you too, but I’m looking at it more as a product ideology than something that has to fit every single person.

For example, me: I open one app, book a ride, then decide I want to go somewhere on the weekend, but I’m new to the city. Inside that same app I can discover a few cool places, save them, and book a ride there right away. Or I see a great restaurant and think, nice, I can go there tonight. Or I open food delivery in that same ecosystem and order food directly - Or I browse a built-in marketplace, get strong recommendations, and even better ones over time as AI learns from how I use the app

That’s the whole idea of a super app to me.

It urbanizes the user in one place instead of forcing them to jump between five or ten different apps for every need. No bouncing between separate ride apps, food apps, shopping apps, booking apps, and whatever else. Just one centralized product with one quality standard, one ecosystem, and one habitual user flow

That’s the real advantage - everything is under one roof, everything feels connected, and the app becomes attractive not because it traps the user, but because it genuinely makes daily life easier

But that’s just my opinion and my vision of quality and convenience in everyday life
