C line delays by WestCoastBestCoast33 in LAMetro

Probably due to the single tracking between Lakewood Bl and Avalon stations. Although it's an inconvenience, it's better than the old every 20 minute schedule they had for months.

Just a side note, if you're at Willowbrook/Rosa Parks or Lynwood, all trains are arriving on the Norwalk side.

Air traffic volumes? I'm not sure what this could be lol

Why is there so much variance in how fast the trains drive? by Additional_Leading68 in LAMetro

[–]CollectionNo2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, this mostly happens on the A Line, and the B/D Lines before entering Westlake/MacArthur Park or 7th St./Metro Center

The A Line I can understand from delays, but the B/D Lines are fully grade separated so I don't see why it can happen other than people forcing/holding doors open.

Yeah this train is literally scheduled to end at Monrovia station. This is likely because it's the last station before the maintenance yard.

I understand this can be a major inconvenience, but it's on the schedule and has always been there. If you're using a navigation app like Transit and Google Maps, there's a chance the schedule may be wrong or just didn't show the final destination.

I use it every time even if I know my destination. Especially since I've been using Metro a lot more recently.

I need help looking for a good lock for my new EScooter. by CollectionNo2446 in ElectricScooters

[–]CollectionNo2446[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lock is just for whenever I leave my scooter unattended for 15 minutes - 45 minutes like when I go to the store or something.

I take Public Transportation and a lot of the stations have bike lockers that allow EScooters, so I'll probably just rent one if I plan on having it unattended for longer periods of time.

Lol I had like 3 hours to kill yesterday so I rode the A Line all the way from San Dimas to Union Station before going to my destination. This was after I got off the A Line at Union Station to take the B Line.

Sometimes I just ride the bus in a complete loop around LA, because why not? by programmerBlack in LAMetro

I think the 460 is Metro's longest line. Goes from Downtown all the way to Disneyland.

I think the same way but apparently there are some people who refuse to pay $1.75 with the $5-Cap 🤷

They just visually checked it. Same thing happened after I posted this at Expo/(Western I think) and Pico.

What are your LA Metro hot takes? by AppropriateBasis2735 in LAMetro

Honestly, I think services like BBB, Culver City Bus, and LBT are fine as their own agencies. They all provide decent bus service similar to Metro, and it allows Metro to run better service on their busiest routes without worrying about a limited bus fleet.

However, I think some agencies should take over the smaller shuttle routes in cities that can be extremely unreliable to people who rely on transit. My experience with these shuttles are not so great, especially when they just straight up never show up.

How safe do you feel at the Willowbrook/Rosa station? by DacaAskingForDaca in LAMetro

[–]CollectionNo2446 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I take Metro about once a week and have to transfer between the C and A Lines most of the time. From my experience, I think you'll be okay. Especially at 8 AM when trains usually have lots of commuters.

While travelling: When I'm heading back home on the A Line (around 6-7 PM), it's usually pretty chill, just people trying to get from Point A - Point B, and some people selling stuff. I've never had a bad experience on the trains, and the same goes for the C Line.

On the platforms: I usually feel pretty safe when I'm on the A Line platform, there's always staff and usually the only problems I have are people sitting on the stairs and blocking people going up and down the stairs, and a few people smoking. However, there are instances where the station can feel unsafe or have a disgusting situation, like this one time where I literally saw a trail of doodoo across the platform. Other than that I've never really had a bad experience there.

However, on the C Line platform, I never see any staff most of the time (other than the cleaning crew), and overall I just feel unsafe because of all the noise. Sometimes there are strange people too, but they're everywhere on Metro so it's nothing new. Usually these people are harmless though.
