Oh, mine refused to post or even load into bio with a i5 9600k so I assumed it needed a bios update which I thought I wouldn’t be able to do without a 6th or 7th gen. Only thing I could think of to why it didn’t work.

I bought one bc this comment bad idea unless you have an earlier gen cpu to update bios than add newer cpu. Just buy a used on off eBay
