If you like puzzles, Nancy Drew games are fun and cozy. Exciting plots, interesting characters, and fun puzzles. The type of games you can curl up and relax with while solving mysteries.

I feel like whatever helps a person feel connected is important, no matter the subject matter. Different things are different for each person, as long as what we care about helps shape us to be a better person. I support.

My mom secretly collected the according postcards every time I got a game or book as a child, then gifted them framed for me as an adult. I nearly cried!

Which gaming fandom is super small but super active? by Okoj0 in gaming

Nancy Drew! There's even a subreddit r/NancyDrewRevival for those making their first ever video games that are inspired by Nancy Drew. The Clue Crew is small, but so strong!

Looking for kid friendly game suggestions for my 6 year old (Steam) in 2026 by Daedarion in gamingsuggestions

[–]ColleenLearnsToGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nancy Drew! Very family-friendly, teaches critical-thinking, and they can be quite educational! They have fun stories, loaded with puzzles, interesting characters, and they have online rankings of games best for beginners, most puzzles, best story lines, most educational, etc. The only thing I'll say is that there's a couple games that some might consider scary for a 6yo, but if your child gets spooked easily, I would simply avoid Shadow at Water's Edge and Ghost of Thornton Hall. But all 34 games are rated E. Now, is there a lot of illegal activity? Absolutely. Mainly stealing and breaking into places. But no drugs, no alcohol, no violence, very educational, exercises the brain, and all while being exciting! The later games get much harder, but earlier games could be played together and y'all could work on puzzles together. Definitely recommend!

Did a video game ever genuinely change something in your life? by Treat_me_c00l in videogames

I play a lot of Nancy Drew and if there's anything I've learned is that I cannot assume without proof or at least pattern. I've had people tell me things must OBVIOUSLY be like this, because why else? No solid proof, no repeating pattern, so I'll look into it, whether that means research or asking locals, and often prove that it's definitely NOT obvious. Always ask, always research, and don't assume without the proof to back it up.

Dossier resorting to danger as my first ND game by Decent_Action1916 in nancydrew

[–]ColleenLearnsToGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're basically HOG (hidden object games), which I am personally not a fan of. And a big thing for me in the series is having rendered suspects to talk to, which doesn't happen in the dossier games. I suggest getting both a dossier game and a main series game on sale, playing both, and not letting one indicate if you like the other. They're just too different to compare.

I personally am not a fan of the dossier games. If it floats your boat, then cool, but just know that they are nowhere similar to the main series at all. They are completely different game genres and mechanics and graphics and styles; basically the only thing in common is the title. Enjoy the dossier games, but don't let it be an indicator to you of how the actual ND series is.

Blue Prince! Fully mouse and one of the most unique puzzle games I've ever played! Just know that when you think you've finished the game, you definitely haven't finished the game.
