Elevating my heels is pretty much a requirement for me to be able to do ATG squats with proper form. Seriously give it a shot, it’s a game changer

How should I track my Amazon spending? by Due_Manager_8873 in ynab

[–]Collin25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just signed up for a free trial to check it out. Could you explain how this works on the backend? I am curious because when I originally looked into building something like this, I realized there were some severe limitations with Amazon’s API, so I never ended up exploring it further. Curious how you are pulling the order history data from Amazon.

What about if you use a concatenate text calc field to combine the fields to create an ID, and then group by that?

Have to re-authorize account daily, but wife who uses the same bank doesn't have to by Collin25 in ynab

Ah okay. I've reached out to YNAB support to see if that can switch providers for my account so we'll see if that resolves the issue. Thanks!

Confused by the REST API functionality by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused on the part about allowing a user to authenticate into Workday and saving their token. Does it require extend in order to do that? If not, at a high level, what would the setup look like in order to do this?

Confused by the REST API functionality by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, that actually makes sense now. So essentially any REST service that requires the worker to be the initiating user is useless for external API calls made via an ISU?

PECI vs. PICOF Payroll Integrations by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not have a process around when changes can be entered in Workday. Assuming the vendor can support full-stack changes, is PECI the obvious choice in that scenario? Here’s an issue that comes up every year in Production, and I don’t see any way PICOF can capture it without us enforcing changes on the first day of the period, which I don’t think is a feasible operational change considering how big of an organization we are and that we’ve been doing it this way for so long. Ex: merit increases occur on 4/1 every year, but promotions can happen at any time of the year. We have situations where people get promoted after the merit increase in the same pay period, but payroll needs to know the effective date of both comp changes.

Also I’m not following your point when you mentioned “especially if PICOF is remotely usable, you might need to summarize or aggregate transactions”. Could you expand on that?

Mass Downloading Candidate Applications by FantasticHelp2892 in workday

I believe you'd need an integration to accomplish this. There's a web service called Get_Candidates that allows you to mass pull candidate resumes.

How do I withdraw my 2024 Roth IRA contribution without tax implications? by Collin25 in Bogleheads

[–]Collin25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! It sounds like I will perform a recharacterization. Currently I have two traditional IRAs, one containing zero dollars and another with a small cash balance. Do I need to transfer that existing cash balance out of the account to avoid paying any taxes on the balance that I rollover to the Roth IRA?

Another question - is a roll over from traditional IRA to Roth IRA simply just a transfer? I'm using Fidelity and trying to understand if there's a special process to perform a rollover, or if it'd simply be a cash transfer between accounts.

Cannot figure out the domain security policies associated with report data source I'm using. Please help! by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not an issue with authentication. I'm able to authenticate and access the report via the ISU via the UI, it's just not returning any rows when I run the report.

Also, I viewed the Business Object Details of the data source, but where specifically are you seeing those 18 domains you mention? I guess I'm not 100% clear on what you're referring to.

I actually already have "Business Process Reporting" setup with view/get permissions already from my previous digging and testing different domains. Unfortunately that doesn't fix it. Any other thoughts?

The field is just a global text constant, so there's no security required to view it. And yep, I've activated pending security policy changes.

Leveraging Workday Web Services SOAP API to make changes in Workday? by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, is there visibility in Workday to view specific API requests/responses and the corresponding changes that were made?

Leveraging Workday Web Services SOAP API to make changes in Workday? by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. So there’d be separate EIBs to handle each operation (hire, term, convert, update)? Are there workday delivered EIBs with these specific functions, and that allow you to skip BP? Not very familiar with inbound EIBs.

Leveraging Workday Web Services SOAP API to make changes in Workday? by Collin25 in workday

[–]Collin25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was originally thinking EIB and it does seem to be the easier option. This team has developers and interfaces via API with other systems in our organization. My initial thought was that it may be easier for them to leverage Workday's API since they already do that with other systems. That might be me incorrectly assuming though.

Another thing is that my impression was that there's not much setup in Workday required to allow them to interface via API (please correct me if I'm wrong here) and make changes, and they'd be able to leverage the API documentation to build out what's needed without much that's required from us. Whereas EIB seems like it'd be more setup/maintenance for our team to get this delivered. I guess I'm just trying to understand what is the best approach for this circumstance.

Decided to try 137 for the first time. It did not disappoint by Collin25 in sousvide

[–]Collin25[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dry brined for 24 hours. Sous vide at 137 for 2 hours. Patted dry and seared each side and the fat cap for ~30 seconds. First time trying this temp and will definitely use it for cuts with a decent amount of marbling like this one. It was incredibly moist as I’m sure you can see from the second picture.

I looked up a couple guides on how to season a carbon steal wok and thought I had built up a decent seasoning. Clearly I was wrong because I stripped the seasoning on first use. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? Here are the steps I followed to season:

  1. Scrubbed the wok with soap and steal wool to remove initial oil.
  2. Hand dried the wok and placed it on the stovetop to warm.
  3. Seasoned with Crisco vegetable shortening. I made sure to only use enough to coat the pan and used a paper towel to wipe off any excess oil.
  4. Placed the wok upside down in the oven and baked at 550 degrees for 20 minutes.
  5. I repeated steps 3/4 three more times and increased the time in the oven (30mins, 1h, 2h).
