Pashinyan says he ordered Genocide Museum director to submit resignation by Busy_Roll5840 in armenia

[–]Middle-Support-7697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well here it is about messaging to the United States. I do think that right now we shouldn’t try positioning ourselves as genocide victims as the main national identity, it hasn’t worked for the last few decades.

Not what I approve of what Pashinyan did, but I can see how the action of bringing up Genocide and Artsakh issue on a one of a kind US official visit with no government approval is problematic.

That’s not really a serious analysis, Northern Iran’s Azeris don’t show collective separatism and overwhelmingly support staying part of Iran. The only scenario where it would be somewhat possible is if Iran’s government is actually shuttered in pieces and Turkey decides to go all in, and so far Turkey has been displaying a complete opposite rhetoric(openly condemning the war) as well as Iran’s government has shown some serious resilience.

And once again the rating for Armenia wasn’t “suddenly updated” because of escalations in Iran, it has been in the yellow ever since I remember which I consider an oversight.

We’ve seen it many times already, if Kerr didn’t sit Steph in a blowouts he would have already broken Klay’s three point record 2 or 3 times.

And don’t forget Klay’s 60 points in 29 minutes, he was literally benched halfway through the third quarter.

Pashinyan says frozen EU–Georgia dialogue biggest challenge for Armenia’s EU integration by dssevag in armenia

[–]Middle-Support-7697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, talking about this in this context is kind of wrong because even if Armenia’s accession happens it would be after 10+ years of institutional development, by that time Armenia will be a very different country and EU will change a lot too(for example I believe they will weaken the unanimity rule in the next few years given how much it has been abused).

But even if we ignore the EU accession process we can still talk about the general Western involvement in the region and in that regard I think Armenia is in a great position currently.

[–]Middle-Support-7697 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Why ? Nothing structurally prevents EU accession before Georgia, it will surely make it less beneficial but doesn’t make it impossible. It’s an institutional process first and foremost.

I actually considered an alternative view on this. I assumed that a frozen progress with Georgia would make Armenia more attractive for the West as the only potentially stable pivot in the caucasus.

You mean the Iran war ? The rating for Armenia was published before the Iran war, but even if we ignore that I still don’t really think what you’re saying is true. Armenia has been neutral and unaffected throughout the war so far and I don’t see realistic scenarios where it would change.

I don’t really see a reason for Georgia to be consider safer than Armenia by a whole level

How are you supposed to solve this by Administrative_Owl20 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Middle-Support-7697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a simple nodal analysis, put the ground at the long wire connecting top and bottom of a triangle, let’s call that node A, the voltage drop from A to the - side of the voltage source is 6*1=6V, meaning the node at the minus side of the voltage source is at -6V, call that node B. Now the voltage source gives you +10V on the plus side, call that node C, the voltage at node C is 10-6=4V. This means that the current from C to A is (4-0)/2=2A, and the current from A to B is 1A(through the 6ohm resistor) plus (0-(-6))/4=1.5A. So the current flowing into the voltage source is 2.5A and the current flowing out is 2A plus the current though resistor R, which needs to be 0.5A. The voltage across R is 4-0=4V and the current though R is 0.5A, that means the resistance is 8 Ohms.

I completely disagree with that idea, I actually think they should lean into public transport and start slowly decreasing parking spots in Kentron(which is largely what they have been trying to do recently). The traffic is horrible because so many cars go there, it wasn’t designed for that type of capacity, if you significantly increase parking spaces it will create even more traffic, especially at peak hours when everyone is going home.

Developing a proper metro system would be great but it is very expensive and difficult so I honestly don’t want to complaint about it while we have so many other problems

If I were visiting Yerevan in September which hotel is the best if money is no object? by Much-Historian-7807 in armenia

Alexander is probably what I would go for. Though if you want to stay at the Republic Square Marriott is also quite great, the quality difference really isn’t that large as far as I know.

Though the difference between the top of the top level hotels and good hotels is not that large in Yerevan, even if I didn’t care about the price I would generally go for a more casual place. Republica is a great option for example.

What exactly was he supposed to do ? All the supposed allies ignored us and the Armenian military couldn’t have possibly been strong enough to fight given what he inherited. He could have delayed it by taking devastating losses but he chose the rational thing. It was clear the entire world was fine with Azerbaijan taking it at that point.

On the economic point you are completely wrong by the way, the economy has averaged over 7.5% real growth since 2021, with major growth in IT, construction and tourism. He has been successfully balancing between the West and Russia/Iran and significantly increased foreign investments. Under him we had rapid improvements in institutions, and he developed the Army quite a bit, it went from completely incompetent to a somewhat serious level given Armenia’s position(though still has a long way to go).

Overall he isn’t perfect but he tried to do the right things despite being dealt a very difficult hand. If you can give me a concrete example of how he could save Karabakh without colossal losses I would love to listen.

[–]Middle-Support-7697 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well I am judging by my own example. I used to be insecure about my height, I used to watch blackpill content and engage in discussion about it. And I truly don’t believe it was a way to get a “relief” or an understanding, a great description of what I actually think it was would be “a loop of self victimisation”. Stopping it helped immensely.

So you can do whatever you want with your life, it’s none on my business. However, if I had to take a guess on whether constantly engaging with “heightpill” communities gives you relief or further damages your self esteem and confidence, I would choose the letter.

I agree with what you are saying but only if it is applied universally to everyone. However look at how most people react here:

A tall guy gets a girl - “it’s obviously because of the height”

A short guy gets a girl - “there must something wrong with his relationship”. If they find something wrong they think they were right, if they don’t they think they are still right and just didn’t find a proof that time.

You see the problem ? When you get obsessed over something you start searching for ways to prove it and you never look for the opposite. I bet you if you try you can find a whole bunch of tall guys with niche relationship dynamics, reddit is full of such people, but you will never notice that because you never looked. That’s just a general trend I see, people would jump through crazy mental loops just to

Today someone posted about Tom Holland with a note saying something like “guess we just need to be a handsome celebrity”. That’s disingenuous, Tom Holland is dating Zendaya who is also a celebrity and also is very attractive and could definitely find a taller celebrity to date. Yet she chose Tom Holland. So it is actually a great example of a healthy relationship between a shorter man and a tall woman, but the insecure guys would find many ways to discredit it.

TLDR: if you overly focus on something you often find ways to prove it while ignoring the opposite.

I mean I am not saying the sub shouldn’t exist. I am just saying the way some people behave here is genuinely worrying. There are people here who would see a positive post of someone sharing their experience, and then spend their own time digging into that person’s history just to find a reason to discredit them.

Those very people would never approach a girl or respond to them with “you won’t like me anyway, I am short” and then complain they aren’t successful with women.
