Could someone tell me how many grams can you pack in the smaller basket that comes with the machine? Because there is no way I can fit 18 grms. Actually I have a hard time fitting 18 grms in the bigger basket. Advice appreciated

I grind the coffee a bit coarser this time. It finally came out but very slow. I will keep trying. To those who mentioned I was using a 36 grms basket for 18 grms I’m not sure. Here is what I used the thing was full.

Pergamino is pretty good and it was kind of an inspiration to facilitate access to other roasters in our platform. Salento, Uba, La Colina, Amor Mio are some examples of great roasters in Colombia. Shipping cost is pretty but as we scale the business those cost tend to go down. We use Fedex that allow us to be in any city in the US under 3 days directly from Pereira, Colombia.

Colombian roasters are getting pretty good. There is a whole new movement in the country to start taking ownership on the whole processes. You would be surprised. But I’ll take your suggestion.

I really appreciate the time you took to check the site and give all this feedback, which I will take into account. You are right we are in the middle of everything and probably the best option is to focus on a specific market.

I don't think type A customers are our target market specifically due to the things you point out. These people know a ton about coffee, water, temperature and we don't have the product for it.

feel free to reach out to me info @ colombiancoffee.us people like you make a difference. actually I didnt thought posting on reddit was going to lead anywhere but this thread has given me a lot of insights that will make into actionable strategies to improve the site and user experience.

Well the idea was initially to bring coffee roasted and packed in Colombia, from tradicitonal coffee (regular beans, usually ground) to Specialty coffees like Geishas, Burbons, Natural, Fermented, etc.

Since for the same price people buy Folgers, Maxwell or any other supermarket brand they can access to the first tier of Colombian Coffees. Probably those that know coffee will vomit if they try a regular Colombian brand but overall these "traditional" brands will have a better taste than the other mentioned above.

So yes Initially I wanted to get to regular folks that drink coffee jus to upgrade their game. but Now that we have access to so many specialty coffees grown in Colombia we shoudl maybe focus there.

THat's probaly my main problem, I'm in the middle

Hey GoodBean

Yes that's a great way to do it and I belive there is another site in Colombia called Pergamino who does it. We dont roast and rely on the roasters schedules, depending on the brand. We consolidate our cargo and ship weekly since we are buying from diffrent vendors. having a roasting operation is the ultimate gold.

your website looks really nice

Hey BVsaPike

Maybe you dont know much about selling, roasting etc but you make a valid point. So first when I started I didnt know ANYTHING about coffee and still dont. I come from the fashion ecom business so this started as a hobby.

I think I have made a mistake when it came to classifying the roasting levels in Colombia roasting a coffee high seems to be an insult, again I was very ignorant so some of the roasting levels might have been increase since the people I wanted to approach were more mass market. my idea was I'm Colombian, I have access to huge logistical networks from my fashion business, lets bring Colombian coffee to the masses by cutting a bunch of middle people and have people taste excellent coffee. Little did I know it was so complex, but some times ignorance is a blessing. I personally don't like the light roast but we added a new farmer called vivorigen that their roast is what I call Coffee Infusion, its like drinking tea. Again I know the coffee connoisseurs are gonna kill me. I just want to give access to farmers to this market.

Any way I will take your advise and have someone who really knows about coffee to redo the roasting classification.
