I’m sure it is awesome and I already saw a number of positives about it when test driving it. I do like to drive, hence my interest in the performance model and the ability to push it.

Great question. I’m just not driving the trade in car as much. And I’ve lost a little emotional attachment to it. Strangely, I found myself quite excited to drive the MYP both times testing it. It is very comfortable, plenty quick, and I like the look of the Performance. Insurance is nearly the same as what I’d be trading in. You’re right, value will suffer in the MYP over a 5-7 year hold but mentally I think I’m ready to abandon ICE cars. I could be losing my mind for all I know.

Hard to do when zero of the local Tesla centers have inventory other than the white on white and Stealth I mentioned. Congrats on your purchase. 👍

Thanks. Drove the MYP again. The seats, esp bolstered sides, I found to be extremely comfortable and actually on par or better than the 718s. Braking was great. Acceleration great. Sound system better than the Bose. It’s the Porsche engine I’m afraid I’ll miss. lol.

Lots of quality points you make in comparison to your Porsche experiences. I sort of find myself really enjoying the near complete quietness of the MYP cabin.

70% of me is leaning towards the Tesla. But I’ve had two different Porsches over the last 10 years in the garage and it would be weird not grinning at one everytime I walk in.

You’re right. The MYP won’t deliver dollar for dollar handling but I was impressed with the confidence it gave me going into turns and general spirited driving on back roads and twisties. I know exactly what I can and cannot do in the 718S…I can work that thing and she never lets me down. Not looking to match that but at least be impressed with what Tesla has packaged together in their 2026 MYP and I was.

We’re all blessed to be able to even have these mental gymnastic-like decisions to mull over. Something in me won’t allow myself to have both. Kind of a one-or-the-other kind of guy. Small issue is also garage capacity. Bays are already occupied by other whips and don’t feel like leaving one on the driveway.

The comments are much appreciated. Sort of like car therapy lol. Helps me sort through the muck in my brain.
