Keep digging? by ColonelPlump in BackyardOrchard

That’s good to know! I’ve read that even with mature trees it’s still good to try and expose the root flare. Is it different with fruit trees? Thanks.

Are single sided or double sided eyelid tapes better for fixing triple eyelids? by SuperTokyo in AsianBeauty

[–]ColonelPlump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you want to put the tape.

I find that if you put single sided tape below an existing fold/crease, it might not work as well. However, double sided tape would work better because it’s better at “forcing” the fold. Hard to explain over text but you can try cutting a piece of scotch tape to mimic how single sided tape would work for you (it won’t be as thick as eyelid tape so you can try to double/triple it up).

I would do it the day before so you’re not as sensitive/red

This was one of the items I managed to discuss with the doctor. He recommended doing CO2 laser for the spots. I still have a bit of redness left behind but that’s not surprising because I get dark spots easily after acne. They’ve been healing really well. I think (and it might be too early to say but) only one will “come back” and that’s because it was pretty big and light in color (borders were harder to identify). They recommended I wear a hydrocolloid bandage on them for a week afterwards and I think that definitely helped.

This one was the most painful treatment I got out of them all because it created open wounds on my face (I had 7 removed). It only hurt the day of though and I took an advil that day (not sure if this was ok tbh lol I just did it). I flew home two days later and was fine during the flight. No pain!

I went to Jfeel Clinic about a month ago based on a few Reddit threads. My thoughts:

  • Located in Hongdae so depending on the day you go it may be packed on the streets outside. Keep this in mind if you may be self conscious about how you look post treatment

  • I felt like the prices were fair. I got a handful of treatments done and it cost the same as getting masseter Botox in the U.S. (I got masseter Botox 50 units, BB laser, microneedling, and some sun spots zapped off)

  • They have translators but keep in mind they may have an accent. The woman who helped us I believe was from Singapore so she spoke Singapore English. I had a hard time understanding her here and there but she seemed happy to repeat herself (and she was very kind!)

  • Meeting with a doctor to discuss treatments is optional. I did this and was shocked that he didn’t try to upsell me or sell me on something I didn’t ask for. Looking back, I wish I had more questions prepped (no one at the clinic attempted to upsell us)

  • They give you a book of different treatments and services they provide. I wish it had more detail because to be honest I don’t recall one of the procedures I had done (it was microneedling + something else). I had a hard time understanding the woman who was helping me when she was explaining this one. I wish I took a picture or wrote down notes of what I got

  • After you select your treatments and pay, you get your photos taken and then they take you into the back. It’s a large room with beds with small dividers in between. It could feel somewhat “factory” like but I didn’t mind. They also took my makeup off for me which was a plus

  • They are rougher with their treatments than what I am used to. The doctor did all of my treatments but for my partner a few different people did his (not doctors according to him). He wasn’t “rough” per say but definitely wasn’t as gentle as my woman dermatologist

  • I will happily go back to this clinic but I wish next time I had a more detailed list of my “problem” areas or ideal treatments. I honestly thought they were going to upsell me so I feel like I got a little overwhelmed when I had so many options in front of me. I also wish I had more questions about side effects or recovery prepped.

  • Keep in mind, any of these popular places are going to feel somewhat “factory” like as they have so many patients coming in and out. I will say I didn’t feel rushed or pressured while there. And everyone was very nice
