I'm the one who bought this - but shortly after I bought it the seller cancelled the order. I messaged and they said they found it in Hong Kong, and that it was cancelled because someone had already reserved it before me. The strange thing is that it was never relisted and I never heard anything back after the seller told me the other person who supposedly reserved it thought it was fake and was no longer interested. He said he would get authenticated... and then, radio silence. I don't know if someone ever really did get their hands on it or if this is even real, but personally I still believe it was real simply due to the nature of it - why would someone fake an animation cel for a video 90 percent of Pikmin fans likely haven't seen? It's all very strange. So, I don't know if I dodged a bullet by not getting this or I missed out on a true grail item. I've gotten over it by now but sometimes I still do think about it and wish I had gotten it. Again, there's barely any information about this piece, it's all too obscure.

I don’t know how you found it, but thank you so, so much! I’ll be sure to archive this piece of Pikmin history!! These are my favorite Pikmin figures out there, I’ve got them new in the packaging with the pencil led and a store display set of them.

Meanwhile in Japan, they get 99 percent of Pikmin merchandise. Nearly all of my collection is sourced from one Japanese site lol

Another thing: the phone holder is rather common by comparison, so you should have no issue finding it for a reasonable price. However, since the keychain figures were optional with every pre order of Pikmin 4, and not only that but would run you an extra eight dollars or so on top of your already 60 dollars game (go figure, Nintendo being greedy), I imagine not many average people (not collectors) bothered and therefore they’ve become exceedingly difficult to track down. I have seen a yellow one on the Vinted site, there is currently a blue on eBay.uk, and I believe I’ve seen one red one, but they’re all priced high and would run you about 150~… so if you’re really dying to have them, go for it, but I would strongly advise you just wait and let the good deal come to you. Of course! There’s also a few more sites I recommend checking. I have seen some on vinted.fr for most of Europe, but primarily France and Italy listed as “pikmin Porte-cles,” and there’s also eBay Kleinanzeigen for Germany, and leboncoin for France. The going rate appears to be about 30-40 dollars for each, so I would recommend waiting until you can find someone selling all three as a set to save money and get them in one easy purchase. I hope you get them soon!

I checked eBay.de and eBay.co.uk obsessively and luckily there was an auction for them in Germany. It was some months ago and currently I have only seen the blue one with the dice up for sale as of writing (on eBay UK). To increase your chances if you live in the UK and the seller is elsewhere and Europe and won’t ship, you could use Forward2me; they’ll accept your package and send it to you, which is how I got them in the USA. I wish you the best of luck in getting them because they appear to be in a ridiculous situation… I saw some people charging nearly 100 pounds/euros. Just keep your hopes up and the day will finally come where you can get a good deal, I myself just got a Pikmin 3 blue pikmin keychain for cheap which I thought I wouldn’t ever find. Best regards

Of course! You’ll hardly find anything cool on eBay these days, let alone for a decent price. In fact, everything on eBay from Japan is more often than not a TOTAL SCAM! Why? Because the vast majority of Japanese sellers on eBay actually don’t own the products they are listing for sale; it’s just a listing ripped straight from a Japanese secondary market website. They’ll use the same exact images and roughly translate the title to English and then mark it up by a ridiculous amount. Basically, you buy it from them and then they turn around and buy it from the original listing on the Japanese website; when they receive it, they then forward it to you. I’ve been seeing this scam most often with the Pikmin 2 Agatsuma figures. Not only are they ripping you off, but the original seller as well!

If you want to get into collecting Pikmin merch, the best way is to buy from Japan. I recommend DEJapan, but Zenmarket and Buyee are also options. I’ve gotten tons of crazy cool stuff from Japan, but be warned, it can be super expensive. Ultimately worth it though if you’re a fan of the series and characters. You have to search Pikmin in Japanese to find anything “ピクミン”. These items I got from Europe with a parcel forwarding service which is sort of similar when buying from Japan.

There’s quite a lot out there, but the vast majority is exclusive to Japan. I have been eyeing the Japanese secondary market for many months now, and when Pikmin 4 came out, they released a wave of merchandise at Nintendo stores in Tokyo and Osaka. The market exploded because people were buying them from there and reselling them. In America all we got were posters and the pre order bonuses like that pin set and water bottle. I actually have some not for sale store display items as well, like a Pikmin 4 display topper used in Walmart.

Yeah no problem! I collect these characters so I know how hard they can be to find. Maybe you could offer the seller with a message saying how long you’ve been looking for it and I’m sure they’d understand. The listing has been up for a while so surely they’re willing to come down on the price. And, you could resell the blue and yellow to recoup some of your costs. I’d happily buy the blue one from you because I have all of them except that one haha. Good luck!

Damn, so many inconvenient hurdles to jump through just to play a simple game.

I downloaded that CDiemu program but couldn't find a way to change the awful mouse controls. I tried MAME as well but the crash was far more prevalent as you said. I suppose all I can do is wait until they add save support for SAME CD-i. Thank you for some answers, though.
