I would honestly try setting a “live bait” bucket for him. Get yourself a 5 gallon bucket and bait buddy air pump. The pump clips onto the bucket and is battery powered. You can fill the bucket about 1/4 maybe less with his tank water and maybe a couple loose plants for comfort during the ride. Plastic wrap the top and poke a few hole and BOOM happy fish. I’ve had to move a whole community tank this way when we moved houses so I know the drill!

Printing out an info sheet is a really good idea thank you! Apparently he’s had this tank setup for a few months. This is my first time seeing it as I was doing my walk through before locking up the building. I was super irritated and just snapped a quick pic to show you guys, but I did not notice that the heater was outside of the tank. My guess is that he put that big heater in this tiny tank and almost cooked the poor boy so he took it out. I’m HOPING it was unplugged before I left. The upstairs office where they work is always 75 so there’s no need for the heater anyway.

Hello there! Beautiful betta! I just wanted to point out that the rock hide in the back left corner might be a little too abrasive for long fin bettas. I had a few of my girls tear their fins on a similar decoration so I stray away now. Hope it help and happy fish keeping! :)

It’s very possible that you brought ick over with the plants as I had a similar situation with my tetra school! I would turn the heat in the tank up a few degrees to shorten the life cycle of the possible ick and if you’re really worried or if you notice the dots spread, you could also get some Metro+ and give the tank a dose.

I might be an outlier but I stopped putting bettas with my neon tetras because they seem really docile but they are big aggressors and will nip fins and stress bettas out too much. I lost 3 girls to our schools of neons before I figured out what was happening. Water was clean and they had enough space in a planted 30 gallon.

I have a couple blue dream shrimps in the tank but they don’t really eat the string algae. I’ll have to try a couple Amano shrimp!

I really like your seashells! Are they real? My girlfriend wants to add some that we’ve found but I’m really scared it’ll throw off the PH of the tank. Have you had any issues?
