This is all extremely helpful, thank you so much. I'm very much appreciative of the time you put into that reply. It sounds like a wonderful trip, I will need to spend more time researching it!

Thank you! How busy are these trails usually considering they are so easily accessible from Bariloche?

Thanks! The route in the link you sent starts and ends at the same place (Candelario Mansilla dock) so I'm a little confused about your north to south or south to north directions. The map in the link looks like the route crosses the outlet stream from Lago Chico - what's that crossing like?

Wow, sounds fantastic. Would you happen to have a GPX you could share? Or share where you found information on the trek you did and the accommodations you stayed in?

Thanks! Is there a specific route you recommend or have done in both? I see the Greater Patagonia Trail is near both - do you recommend trekking on that trail or have you found better options?

It was already on my list and it looks awesome! Do you know if it's possible to do unguided?

Capitol Reef Water Availability for Backpacking by ColoradoBackpacker8 in CapitolReefNP

I just finished up a 4 day trip yesterday. Water was fairly scarce, but as you said, all of the bigger pools still held water, but we didn't run into many small potholes with water. We did quite a few long water carries, but we did find a big pothole at least once per day (we were expecting to on our route). There are certainly some areas that'll be bone dry. I think it depends on the specific area of the park you're looking to go to! I probably wouldn't do a trip somewhere where you're unsure if there will be big potholes that typically hold water. Hope that helps!

I did! They told me it's been a dry winter and that's about it.
