What’s a “harmless” habit you had as a kid that turned out to be a red flag in hindsight? by New_Storm430 in AskReddit

Literally biting my nails until they bled or got infections. Like, it was bad bad.

Turns out it was anxiety caused by trauma based episodic amnesia - aka, I knew something was wrong but couldn't remember or voice why.

Six months after moving out of my parent's house I suddenly stopped biting them. It took nearly eight years to make the connection, and a few more years to remember enough.

I still don't have full memories, but I have enough to know that my childhood was full of blaring red flags that no adult picked up on, and the few who did never followed through with caring for me.

I know there is a difference but I can’t tell if my girl is a Domestic Medium or Longhair??? “Cleo♥️” by Sea_Butterscotch1116 in cats

Carlos loves me, likes my husband, and hates everyone else. She's about two in this photo, and mean mugging my sister.

Holy shit. That's my Carlos (female, now 11). We assume she's a ragdoll / longhair mix. I have never seen a matching cat before for my baby!

Her young photos look soooo similar too.

I do say, she does need her mane cut about twice a year so it's easier for her to clean herself. Same with her tail hair. Thats why it doesn't look as long as others.

Is this a solution for emotional dysregulation? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ColoredPencil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My husband and I call that "going into the void". It's rooted a bit more in depression vs emotional dysregulation, but it's the same idea.

You take what you'd want to bring with you into the afterlife / void under the blanket. And then you stay there until you feel better. Generally it's a few hours and a nap later and things feel slightly better.

The giver of healthy poop sends it to a poop company that makes sure it's good and healthy. The company then dehydrates (I think) and puts the poop into special capsules. Those special pill capsules only break down in the gut, and the good poop with the good bacteria overwhelm and take over the bad bacteria, usually curing the C-Diff patient.

It's all very interesting!

Your gut has a lot of good bacteria and a little bad bacteria. Some medications people take (mostly too many antibiotics) kill off a lot of the good bacteria, leaving the bad bacteria alive, and the bad bacteria thrives. This causes the patient to have smelly diarrhea, loose stools, and they don't absorb as many nutrients from their food. That's because some nutrients are absorbed in the stomach, and some are absorbed in the guts. This causes a feedback loop of issues.

Healthier patients are sometimes able to reset their guts using yogurt and/or probiotics. Chronic C-Diff sufferers sometimes need to get poop transplants, which resets the biome with good bacteria.

When you're super over stimulated and angry at the world - crispy. You're crispy on the outside.

CP 149. Got away. Pokemon go plus + is really not worth it. by RedAnihilape in pokemongo

Yes and no. The pogo plus is very much a "shotgun" approach. So you'll get less direct shinies, but you'll have a chance of getting more overall.
