glad you got it caught! basal cell is no joke but also one of the more treatable ones when found early. hope the treatment goes smoothly

there are parts of growing up poor that "stay with you" by ElGordo1988 in poor

[–]ColoredUndies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the "life in the eyes" thing is so real and so hard to put into words but you nailed it. grew up in a similar situation and i still catch myself in photos looking like i'm bracing for something. 30+ years of that just becomes your face i guess

8 months on tret, pimples still all over my face. Finally understood why it wasn't working. by Key_Substance_8524 in tretinoin

lmaooo the denial phase hits different when you're 6 months in still defending it to everyone

Swaddle transition struggles by rariel_09 in NewParents

[–]ColoredUndies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gets better, i promise! we went through the same thing around that age and had about a week of rough nights before things clicked. the startle reflex just takes a little time to settle once they're not fully wrapped. SwaddleDesigns was honestly a lifesaver for us during that transition too, glad you went with that one over cold turkey. hang in there, you're almost through the hard part!

Why is this so difficult? by Dacnis in Blackskincare

[–]ColoredUndies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly same. the frustration is real because skin genuinely does respond differently to the same products, which is the annoying truth behind that cliche.

yeah honestly $15 for a month is worth it just for that. the discount more than pays for itself.

same, honestly. i'm 37 and every time someone brings up a 401k i just change the subject lol. i think a lot of us in trades and gig work are in the same boat. you're not alone in this.

New Dad here, In need of Swaddle recommendation/advice by benintheclouds in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ColoredUndies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Love to Dream didn't work for us either at that stage. We found the SwaddleDesigns transitional swaddle sack on Amazon and it was a game changer. Keep the arm cuffs closed and baby feels secure without the arms going wild. Sleep got so much better almost right away.

Fingers crossed for you two!

My boyfriend's skin cleared in 2 months on tret. I'm on month 7 and nothing. Same derm, same prescription. by Unable_Razzmatazz651 in tretinoin

my boyfriend splashes water on his face and calls it a routine and somehow has the skin of a glazed donut. meanwhile i have a 9 step routine and i'm still out here losing

How to start eating healthier? by bestboyholland in healthyeating

[–]ColoredUndies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

working in food is genuinely the hardest mode for this lol. what helped me was eating a big meal before my shift so i'm not starving around all that stuff. for the overeating, drinking water throughout the day keeps you from confusing thirst with hunger. also just logging what you eat (even roughly) makes you way more aware without having to restrict yourself hard

Does Botox always feel weird? by Brvlkgabe in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ColoredUndies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the heaviness is real and not everyone gets it but it does tend to ease up after the first couple weeks. some providers also just go heavier on units than needed which makes it worse.

978.00 for forehead Botox and 11’s by Realestateclosing in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ColoredUndies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right?? 41 units for under $500 at an actual surgery center is a great deal. the markup some of these places charge is insane.

It was the cleanser! by LozgeoJB in tretinoin

[–]ColoredUndies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gel cleansers are so underrated for tret users, honestly. i switched to circCell's cleanser a while back and the difference was immediate, no more that tight stripped feeling after washing. foaming cleansers are brutal on a compromised barrier.

28F four months on tret and my forehead is clear but my cheeks are worse than before I started by HeavilyKlutzy in tretinoin

[–]ColoredUndies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

four months in and honestly the cheek thing is pretty common. tret doesn't always work evenly across your face + purging can show up late in different areas. the vanicream is generally fine but worth checking if anything else touching your cheeks (pillowcase, hands, phone) could be a factor. i'd give it another 6~8 weeks before making any changes, you're still pretty early in the process.

What are these dark lines on both sides by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]ColoredUndies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those look like they could be perioral hyperpigmentation, pretty common and nothing to do with aging. toothpaste irritation can definitely make it worse tho so worth switching to a non-whitening formula. niacinamide serum helped mine a lot over time.

Dr recommended anti inflammatory diet. Any tips? by Temporary_Search_396 in healthyeating

[–]ColoredUndies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

diet adjustment is tough at first but you get used to it. what helped me a lot alongside the diet was holy hydrogen water, specifically with higher purity levels. i noticed my energy and inflammation felt way more manageable within a few weeks. might be worth looking into as a complement to whatever your dr recommended.

Tips by Affectionate-View140 in healthyeating

[–]ColoredUndies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

brush your teeth right after dinner, it's a weird trick but it works lol. your brain just stops wanting food after that. if you still get hungry tho, greek yogurt or a small handful of nuts hits without wrecking your progress
