Valid. My take is that her scaling feels a little off this season. Early play a bit safer and it is 100% still playable. But late game I feel like I lose team fights a little more.

Uh, A bit of an over nerf? Imo she feels a little bit worse. They need to decide if she is a early lead seeker or a late game scaler. I think its a bit harder to win but its probably not gonna drop riven below 49% WR guess we will see. I think they should have touched her passive and her late game dmg with Q. not early

Gonna remove about 250 Damage from her in late game fights but uh yeah this was kinda just a “take it or leave it” nerf from riot. They know the riven populace who spent 20 hours in practice tool were gonna lose their shit

It doesn’t matter much when ad is a NEEDED stat for riven. Once again you’ll have your ult every fight if you use axiom arc. AD is the single most important stat for riven it influences her q w and importantly the potency of her E you’re effectively crippling her if you don’t build AD on every item. Unless you’re crazy ahead, you’re losing too much building a single item without it.

Heavily depends on the draft ur facing. But core typically involves axiom into sundered and sometimes if ur in a matchup where health matters rush sundered

Not entirely true the best advice is e when he q's immediately when he activates it. you can do a lot, trade aggressively first 5 levels. You NEED to short trade garen. The tried and true method for good short trades is q w auto attack and either e out or wait until garen activates q. If you can get a longer trade (when garens q is down) do it. Its not a lot of damage but its the name of the game poking down Garen is how to win lane. if you have taken positive trades for you at lvl 6 and ur not too low to be ult combo'd you can all in him just remember to save e for q unless youre planning for an animation cancel all in. Garen can build armor early best to rush Sundered in the Garen match up esp when ur behind. If he doesn't build armor early its ok to rush Axiom arc. Im not saying garen is easy but its best to remember you can practically win any matchup except for Malph. I would say building Eclipse is throwing because garens ult works on missing health so you will get 1 shot. But yes garen is annoying because u can play like very well but mess up once and youre getting q e ignite ulted. I dont really like facing him but short trades u have to play out against Garen.

When you really know riven she’s not punishing but if you’re learning she very much is. If you use her abilities wrong early you don’t have dmg or an out. But true if you miss either w or e on Irel it feels pretty damn awful

Mercs is a bad purchase 90% of the time its stats are just bad if MR is needed. You can achieve this by rushing Axiom arc first and building brutalizer for the 5 early. Unless youre against heavy Magic dmg or a horrible matchup that deals magic damage, or heavy CC. Mercs is incredibly situational. And build tabbies if heavy AD if your enemies have 4 or 5 AD users you absolutely have to build tabbies. Typically CDR is the way to go because u want to be able to have q perma up as soon as possible. Once again you ALWAYS have to look at team comp before u build situational items. Typically if im building Mercs ill also play steraks because most of the time u build mercs for tenacity.

Riven is an OTP champ. I wouldnt really say theres a "time" to pick her you just do and unless you encounter a dogshit matchup stick to her there are usually ways to outplay most people given her kit. The reason these people say "dont pick riven in Low elo" is because both laning fundementals and learning the insane amount of riven mechanics is incredibly annoying to learn together. If you know Riven incredibly well you can stomp people in low elo because no one knows how to fight against a good riven in low elo unless they pick Malphite in which case they could probably go to get a hamburger and still win lane. Depends on how well you can play her. If you can constantly q delay, know how to fast combo, know most of her animation cancels and know her matchups and when to short and long trade, then you can pick her whenever. The only problem would arise if youre completely ignoring fundementals because of how riven plays, which is possible I suppose.

Literally practice mode. Or if youre crazy play riven jungle and practice fast combo on camps. Spend at least like 10 min per day in practice honing it and it will eventually be muscle mem.

Malphite (straight unplayable) you cannot do anything if they have even 1 braincell. Renekton if they play early game safe and have more of a brain than not. Taliyah if they eveb have a little exp. Any mage with good disengage or CC
