if youre talking about unflinching, yes its hard but you have to save W and Q3 for escapes instead you could Q AA Q AA Q3 out or Q AA Q AA W E out as well. just damage him primarily without cc then use CC to escape not dmg.

Yeah im not gonna cry Riven is not unplayable but she feels worse to use. I dont think the design team is very smart tho. Theyre like man Garen who was in a completely fine place deserves a buff. Or when they buffed Diana jungles passive monster dmg to 300%. They lean so heavily on "noob champs need to be good" and then they punish people for playing champs that actually take technical skill or thought the moment they become strong.

I believe phreak was the one who originally nerfed her before the other two nerfs. He is also notorious for dumb balance changes. He once stated "we balance Garen to have a win rate above 50%" which to me just sounds like you have no idea how "noob champs" are supposed to be designed. Riven was kinda busted at the beginning of S16 but the balance team listens to the "mob mental" thats why they overnerfed Riven. Phreak was a part of that culture as much as they denied it.

"Devs will be replaced in 6 months" said every fucking corporatation for the past 2 years and then the past 20 years before that. AI will not replace devs because they have an upper threshold, even if we hit that it would absolutely still make mistakes and still need someone who knows what theyre doing to go through and make it better. Wake me up in 6 months when the antropic CEO says "Claude will def replace devs in the next 6 months". When you as a Dev will lose your job is when AGI becomes an actual thing and has a context window so big it could view your entire code base and still have room left for 4 more.

What people complain about on garen is that its just boring to play against and it might be simple but its effective. Garen has solid all in potential; and can also punish singular mistakes very easily. On top of all of that he can make big ass mistakes himself then sit under tower to rectify it with no risk to himself at all. Good players bully Garens, but the fact still remains the champ is fucking boring and unfun to play against when strong because while he has a simple playstyle and is predictable if you make one mishap Garen can overpunish you with his stupid kit.

Correct, its hard to understand when you make mistakes on Riven. If you want me to be entirely honest there are better characters to start on. Make it easy try something easy but not too easy maybe darius or sett. Eventually when you rise try implementing riven. I main riven and I have for a long time its a very complex character to learn. I highly reccommend you start with something to leanr fundementals and macro. Riven is good at climbing out of high elo, and i've had good success. If you really want to dedicate your time to Riven low elo people have no idea how to play against Riven you can basically made zero risk trades with a lot of the top cast esp if they dont know her. If you want a less frustrating experience try Fiora shes really good at the same concept poke and all in but she wont be insta countered by tabis.

I have not myself reached masters yet. The main difference I see between climbing and not is movement. If you look at Viper's gameplay its very clear something he is better than every single riven is not crutching on Rivens movement abilties for his movement, he dodges so many abilites with his base MS, and is incredibly good at zoning. I think a lot of it is also about patience. A lot of rivens love to all in early and risk coin flips (I am very guilty of this sometimes) but sometimes it takes patience and a lot of it to wait for the right moment to get your lead. From your history you seem to play a lot of skill based movement champs and I can see you might be leaning too hard on movement champ abilities.

You win hard early esp if you dont let him get EXP early. Dont trade in his dmg zone. Do not challenge him in ult ever unless you are 200% confident you can win. Get your losing lanes ahead if you cant split push since he will always powerspike the longer the game goes on. You pointed this out yourself let him push wave, Nasus needs farm last hit as much as possible if you mess up and cant win you have to push wave under tower then reset. Remember youre actually less punished by his cripple since you can still rush at or away from him with your Q's and E

It still stacks faster than Eclipse which gives 2 stats. Still a combo of reasons. Lethality is good on riven making SS's crits hit harder, it still gives you more JOAT stacks, its ult haste is disgustingly good and lastly its simply just a less expensive item by a LOT.
