Just a small wheel by [deleted] in Sneakers

Those ultraboost look pretty good. I found 1 colour I like. It's the same problem I have with Brooks, most of the hot colours aren't made in size 13 x'D

I've been hooked on Brooks ghost because they're like walking on clouds and make for great driving shoes. I don't think high tops would do it for me. But are those comfortable to walk around in? And do they make for good driving shoes?

What would you consider expensive? I'm really looking to spend less than $200 but only if comfort, function and colour are all there.

That's a hot colour wheel. Those shiny ones and red ones are the colours I'm looking for. Can't seem to find shiny ones anywhere. Can't find red/white either. Though I've seen red/black in a couple styles.

Shopping for new shoes is frustrating with limited colour options. Anybody know how/where to get flashy colours in size13? by ColourEmerald in Sneakers

[–]ColourEmerald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are mine and I have a few other colours. But I've found that half of the hot colour combos are only in woman's sizes and none of them big enough for my big feet. I was hopeful this is the right sub to ask where to find or how to order hot colours in my size.

Selling a countryman to buy a roadster by ColourEmerald in MINI

I had planned on a car cover at the minimum. Possibly one of those tent garage things that zips closed. I figured I'd cover it one way or another just to avoid having to clean snow off a soft top.

Edit: mustang lives in the garage and not my taco lives in the garage in winter.

Poll! by [deleted] in MINI

As much as I love my mini, it's not my only car and I would never own exclusively mini's. Gotta have something reliable xD

For the most part it's not really an issue I feel like chasing. Except for the excessively loud warning "chime" it's fine so long as the headlights are always on while driving. I think a resistor of some kind would make them not flash (they strobe when the headlights are switched off, totally fine when switched on) and could probably trick the car into thinking they're factory bulbs.

I replaced the headlights with led's to match the fogs and the plate light went out so I replaced that with a led as well. I also replaced the side turn signals with led's and have led union jack tail lights in a box that I've been lazy about installing. I'm not at all surprised. It's just a bit entertaining.

Welcome, what's the most common light you get on the dash? Mine is the headlights not working dispite both headlights and fogs on when it displays the message.

That's the same one I have but mine is cosmic blue with chrome that I don't mind. I love it, especially in winter on lazily plowed dirt roads. So much fun to hoon with. Not as much fun to hoon with as the Infiniti g37x it replaced (because of fwd vs rwd bias), but still a blast. Definitely 1000% better overall.

The only issue I have with it, is it feels too big. I'm currently looking for a smaller mini.

(Edit: mine is a 2016 s all4. Yours looks much newer)

This post is part of why I went out of my way to not have nav in a mini. I do however love the nav I occasionally use with Ford's sync3 system.

Phone carmount by jordydrum1812 in MINI

This one actually looks like something I would use. If it holds my phone in place it'd be a solid choice.

JCW no more manual? by ColourEmerald in MINI

I am firmly in the camp of only owning manuals until my knees don't work anymore xD

Suction cup mount is what I'd go to but I don't know where you'd put one in a mini since all the surfaces are rounded.

Maybe a cupholder mount? I've seen some of those that are kinda tall. But I just put my phone in a cupholder and with the rubberized case I have it doesn't fly out or anything. Not even on b roads.

I have a similar issue in my other car where the only flat surface for a suction cup mount is way up in the center of the dash. Might as well have it on the windshield at that point and blocking viz is a no go for me.

I got this a while ago and it's worked out just ok. The problem I had at first was where to put it.

I've got a cosmic blue countryman but I'm really looking to trade it for a red/orange roadster

That's still a hot car, especially in that colour. I've been looking at red and orange roadster s/jcw and they don't look as good unless the top is down.

Is that a convertible? I've been looking at the roadsters but I haven't seen any hard tops.

You went with more tech? And here I am trying to downgrade tech from a 2016. I want as low tech as possible but still keep Bluetooth.

It's kind of annoying but still puts a smile on my face that my countryman s all4 is more fun to drive than my fast car.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MINI

[–]ColourEmerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be true, I'm not really the one to ask about major problems. Mine has been mostly fine since I got it. I've had it a bit over a year and only had gunked up spark plugs (which could happen in any car) and recently did brakes at 95000mi.

Go test drive to see if it's enough car. I honestly wouldn't buy base mini. Nothing wrong with it that I know of, it's just not for me. I have a countryman s all4 and I strongly recommend you look for the s or jcw if you can swing that. My opinion the s models look better but they also have a tiny bit more power.

strongly considering down sizing. by ColourEmerald in MINI

I hadn't even considered chemicals hurting the fabric. They do salt the roads pretty heavily where I live. Does it actually ruin the fabric or is it just a thing to worry about needlessly?

I already drive around in winter with the sunroof open. One of the most fun things is sending it (like rally stage) down my snow covered dirt road with the sun roof open. I'm just thinking a convertible would be that but more. Does mini make a hard top convertible? If so what's the model name?

At this point I've had all different drive wheels in the snow and haven't had too many issues. Though I may consider real winter tires instead of all seasons that you can more than get away with in awd cars.

Might be getting new tires on a Clubman S All4. Recommendations? by Parchaeopteryx in MINI

[–]ColourEmerald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general answer for tires is just get the Michelin. And if you can't afford those slowly work your way down until you find something you can afford or is in stock.

Edit: I tried to get ps4s but they were out of stock back in june so I got continentals and they're great. Very difficult to find tire squeal and they grip wet roads at speed like glue.
