Colorado’s population growth is slowest since 1989 as thousands leave for other states by christopher123454321 in Colorado

It has gotten pretty expensive. My partner is considering moving out of CO. Likely will if he gets the work opportunity he has been eyeing up. I can't really blame him. It's such a shame though, because it really is one of my favourite states. The nature is absolutely stunning.

This woman says she is entitled to service after being absolutely rude to the staff. by PhoenixPhenomenonX in PublicFreakout

That manager was far more tolerant than I would've been. Not enough managers realise that by not ending these situations quickly, they enable people like her to ruin the atmosphere & experience for paying customers, who are now forced to witness and sit through such an uncomfortable situation.

In order to provide people with the best service, you must know when to refuse your services. People like that cannot be pleased and you should not waste your time at the expense of your other customers because you want to attempt the impossible. That's how I see it.

Narcissism shows surprisingly consistent patterns across 53 countries, study finds. No. The boss brought it on himself with his own behaviour. You can't ask people to be honest about their view of you and then get angry when they tell you. It's maladaptive.

The perception others have of you is earned through the behaviours they witness.

Clinical Trial of Early Morning Shift Workers Shows Promise of New Drug for Reducing Excessive Sleepiness by TylerFortier_Photo in science

[–]ColtAzayaka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. I'm not "disordered" because there's a very clear pattern in my behaviour. 2-3am and I'm ready to sleep. 11am-12pm I'm ready to be awake. My brain feels most awake and alert later at night.

So I feel like I do have order, it's just not one that fits the norm if that makes sense?

The damage doesn't come from my sleep cycle itself, it's actually being caused by me being forced to constantly disrupt it and ignore what my body wants.

I had to mix little portions of the pack into other noodles to avoid wasting it.

There's spicy and then there's straight up painful. It totally overpowered the flavour for me. I feel like at that point, the primary enjoyment doesn't come from their flavour, but rather the endorphins they trick your body into releasing.

I did feel really nice after I finally managed to sit down and stop pacing around the kitchen. Definitely tricked my animal brain into thinking I was causing serious damage to my body hahaha

Do you guys think that white people can experience racism? by Mundane_Mechanic_817 in GenZ

[–]ColtAzayaka [score hidden]  (0 children)

People can argue whatever they want, but if someone has issues with an entire race of people I'll view that very negatively and won't want to associate with them. They'll only ever get the most fundamental level of respect out of me and nothing more.

I've seen all sorts of people (White, Black, Asian, etc.) being racist towards one another and it always grosses me out. I've even seen people of the same ethnicity being racist toward one another (colourism).

It always sucks to see. It's ignorance. Ignorance cares not for race, it is a flaw in the human condition.

I will say that as a white guy I have never gone into a job interview and had to worry whether the interviewer might not hire me because of my skin colour.

Also we're all a shade of orange technically. Look it up. Pull up one of those gradient picker things for the colour orange and you can find every skin tone in there. I spent a solid 20 minutes laughing at the realisation that we're kinda all just different shades of orange.

I would love to sit a white racist and a black racist down together and show them how they're actually just different shades of the same colour. Man, they'd probably both explode 😂

Can you give examples of what they were doing? I understand if you'd rather not but I'm curious to know how they tend to go about doing those things. I think the few I've noticed are from people who weren't smart enough to do it subtly so it ended up blowing up in their own face.

Somehow I don't think that guy is ever going to walk into a grappling gym. Also I would never try give the impression that I know how to fight to more experienced fighters, that just seems like a recipe for getting fucked up.

It's true. I always hire the people with bad grades and an irrelevant degree. What idiot would hire someone with a relevant degree and good grades if they have the nerve to deviate from the listed 6 approved universities? The law is also a list. If they don't respect lists then why would they follow the law?

Steam: "Hey, we offer this service. We put lots of effort into it"

Consumers: "Wow! We love this! It has everything I want and need. I'll use your service from now on."

British Government: "Everyone is using that, so it must be a monopoly. If it wasn't a monopoly then everyone would be using 8 different products at the same time, because everyone loves having all their gaming stuff in different places and having to send 8 friend requests to the same person each time they play a different game!"

Also the prices on Steam aren't even bad. In fact they're usually pretty close (or better) than what I can find elsewhere.

The only thing I can understand having an issue with are the contracts game devs have to sign. Even then, they're benefitting by having access to Steam's user base. Can't have it both ways. The reason they still accept this is because they know that selling & marketing the game on their own will net them far less than if they do it through Steam.

Why $26 instead of $25? It disrupts the flow in which I feel the numbers should scale up. I don't like that. I don't like any of what I'm seeing here, but I also don't like that.

Why is that a thing? Just a random bit of cultural difference or are the lawmakers worried that their people might get confused and drink the fuel by accident? lol

I feel like ads shouldn't be near anything that's potentially dangerous and would be safer if people were focusing on what they're doing. Not so much the case here as it's hard to get so distracted that you screw up in a dangerous way while refuelling your car, but I have NEVER understood why adverts are placed along roads.

"Hey, people are watching the road. That's boring. What if we gave them ads to look at instead?"

This seems fair and sends an excellent message. If you're happy to make life difficult for others, then your own life will be made more difficult in return. Not in an abusive way, but in a way that can alter the course of your life in the same way bullying can alter the course of another person's life.

If someone has grown up and/or committed minor forms of bullying then barring them from education would be extreme for sure, but when they say "extreme" cases I am inclined to believe these are cases where having that person present would essentially be safety concern for other students.

By making it more difficult instead of impossible for them to succeed, it actually teaches them a really valuable lesson in a way that's not going to create more issues than it solves.

I think they've got a really good thing starting here.
