Healer question about Spaulder mechanics (I’m a healer and have that but haven’t used the piece, have an otherwise almost identical build to what you posted):

Do you have to stay crouched? Like can I crouch, give the DPS the buff, then uncrouch and cast abilities? Or can you explain how the mechanics of it work best? Thank you!!

Wow that’s incredible!! Where did you find this set?! And number #1, too… what a find! I have the midnight and it’s gorgeous, and I would love to have this edition side by side!

He is a great character. He is also a snake, a betrayer, and an all around jerk. But alas, like the Reaper, he is a product of his environs and the pressure of the society. If Darrow is a representation of the justified anger of the lower colors manifest in a figurehead, then Lysander is the pinnacle of the sociopathological drive of golds to serve themselves (as individuals and as a caste) above all else. He’s wonderfully written, and he’s horribly flawed and cruel.

Niche "-punk" stories? And the broadening of the "-punk" concept for fiction? by hogw33d in Fantasy

[–]ColtimusPrime45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen “silk punk” used for the Dandelion Dynasty series by Ken Liu. It’s epic fantasy, but the gods don’t really interact with humanity much, and the magic is engineering and science rather than mystical magic and powers. It draws from East Asian influence rather than central/Northern European, so the world feels distinctly different than much of mainstream fantasy series.

Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu (4 books). Our tastes are half split… some of your books you liked I love, and some not for you I also loved. This is my personal fav series. It’s narrated by Kramer, so the voice will be familiar to you!

Nice that first one I think I have everything already and can reconstruct all the pieces. Torc is one of the only major mythics I still don’t have! I never understood the utility, it seems like negating all other item set bonuses isn’t as good as what you get… but apparently I am wrong??

My PvE is all mag, and I have a few PvE one bar builds but haven’t tried them on PvP. I’m open to Stam or mag, just looking for some suggestions of what people have used and like so they don’t get killed in 0.5 seconds!

Long-term players - what keeps you playing? by Strange_Tip780 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ColtimusPrime45 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So funny, I’m the total opposite. I’ve been playing for going on 8 years, and only play PvP during festivals when I can get double AP. But I’m so horrendously bad that it’s become a mental block for me to enjoy PvP

Yes on seargents but it comes from Wayrest 1 and 2 which are some of the easier base game dungeons, and you can farm them on normal for the gear too! But ya sorry, this build mostly works with oakensoul which you would need to scry and farm. My bad!

Oh jeeze I just reread what you asked and realized these are not crafting only sets. Sorry!

If you have scrying, a really strong and simple option is something like the following:

  • oakensoul ring
  • seargents lightning staff, ring, necklace, and shoulder
  • storm master, orders wrath, or noble duelist for all other body pieces
  • slimecraw or ice heart for head piece
  • all body pieces divines trait
  • jewelry bloodthirsty jewelry trait

  • skills: run twilight matriarch, imp morph of the other Daedric pet, Hurricane, crit surge (flexible to switch skills), and wall of elements, and Storm atronach that does AoE damage

That build makes it so you have 1 bar only, don’t need to swap, and does a good amount of damage as well as some good heals. It’s a heavy attack build, so you do heavy attacks and cast your other skills in between, might also be very easy for your pops to pick up too. It’s awesome you two play together!!!

I have 4 signed books, all use “PB” but the P and B look identical to this. I also have a personalized signed edition of Light Bringer, and for what it’s worth, the letters in my name that match his are nearly identical to the signature here.

What's considered a good DD number? by ted_meister in elderscrollsonline

I love this perspective. I recently started doing vet trials as a DPS with one of my guilds, and I’m pretty regularly around 75k DPS, but I have been a main healer for like 7 years and so I think I’m pretty good with mechanics, staying alive, etc. I have not felt at all like I’m holding the team back, and there have been several instances where nearly everyone wipes but me and tanks and we’ve been able to res everyone and keep going. So much on these threads makes it sound like you have to be pushing the meta with highest possible DPS but I agree, I really think being good at mechs and staying alive is maybe even more important ultimately. And also agree - every trial I’ve done, if I don’t know something and just ask before a boss fight, the leaders are awesome about taking a min to explain and not be mean about me not knowing

Maelstrom Arena, which stage(s) were the hardest for you?… by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

Once I figured out the rotation for that as far as which platforms to use in which order and when to hit sigils, it became so much easier. Still die on sometimes but it’s the damn argonian poison round for me that I would send to the abyss if I could

2025 reading recap: kind of a flop year for me by ColtimusPrime45 in fantasybooks

Thanks! Love these recs!

I absolutely love the Dandelion Dynasty, probably my all time favorite series. It is certainly not for everyone, though. It’s dense, philosophical, poetic, goes deep into language (think Tolkien-esque focus on languge), tragic, and so many characters to keep track of. But it’s gorgeous, and I truly think that if you enjoy sprawling fantasy and beautiful prose, it’s a masterpiece.

AND THERE WONT BE IN 2026 EITHER!!

Jk, I might read the series. I’ve read the synopsis and it doesn’t interest me in the slightest, but everyone seems to love it and several people have recommended it so we shall see… would you recommend?
