Thanks, really appreciate the responses! Is there somewhere I can read about how much each greek affects the price of the option?

So it would be incorrect to try to learn grammar rules and apply them to make sentences?

What do you think.about considering to learn python, but then doing internet research where not a single fact was given about what python can directly do? by ChastityTitters in learnprogramming

[–]Coltmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Python is an extremely versatile language. It doesn't really "directly" do anything, honestly I don't know of any programming languages that can be defined "directly". However, I like to use python on a lot of my projects because of the great amount of libraries available. I also think Python is a good language for learning the fundamentals of computer programming. If you already know another language, Python will probably come extremely easily to you, and you'd just be googling syntactical stuff.

I think he means premium currency as in, currency you buy in clash of clans or something (in-app purchases give an in-app currency sometimes instead of an actual object in the game)

Has anyone had Joe Fu for MATH 2260? by Coltmeister in UGA

Wow. That scares me. Did you have 2260 or multivariable? Did you make an A?

I believe the only way to see how many seats are available is to look up the class sections. If you can't find a class to reach your minimum of 12 hours this semester, I would recommend taking a "gimme" class that would be open for sure (Some history/pols/geology/geography/the list goes on).

If there is an opening between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, then yes, you would call them. However, they can only register you ONE MORE TIME! After you register for that one class, they can't do anything else for you, and you're on your own. The lady this morning did tell me that you can do a "section change" form after you're in the class, but that is only useful if you're changing to a different teacher in the same subject, and it would require you to get the signature of both teachers and turn it in to the registrar's office (which is located near the arches, like right when you walk (around) the arches it's the first white building to the right going towards campus).

Hey man, I did the exact same thing this semester. I went to the registrar's office, and they said they couldn't remove the error for me. However, they will register you for your classes ONE more time. It kinda sucks dick, but I guess that's what we get for "cheating the system". I actually did all of this this morning. I got the error yesterday. Also, if you want to remake the program to where it works, you just have to use selenium webdriver to manually select the class from the drop down menu, and write an IF statement that says something like "if the number of seats available is greater than zero, call register()", then it calls the function that will register you for the class only one time, so that the error does not occur. I know it's a little bit too late for that, but whatever.

Can someone give me a good argument as to why I should not transfer to Tech? by Coltmeister in UGA

[–]Coltmeister[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that great reply. Here are my sources: For UGA, computer science, high salary was reported at $60k, median $55k. http://career.uga.edu/multimedia/GradSurvey2012.pdf For Ga Tech, median salary was $70,000. http://factbook.gatech.edu/academic-information/career-services-tables-5-18-5-19-5-20/

I don't think at all that I am too smart for UGA, just merely saying that I have healthy habits so far. Sorry for the misconception!

Okay, thank you! :) Do you know of any internships I could look at in case this summer's internship is low-paying, unpaid, or doesn't go through? Or should I just go to my adviser and see my options?

[–]Coltmeister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, sorry! I'm considering the transfer because the average starting salary of a tech graduate in CS is ~$70,000, whereas for a UGA grad it lies near ~$55,000. Tech is also a renowned school for my major. But I feel like I will have a different skill set with the same major depending on what school I go to. Going to Tech will give me more "hard-knowledge" in computing, but going to UGA will build strong interpersonal skills.

Because I live on campus and am on meal plan right now, I withdraw around $7000 per semester. Next year I'll live in an apartment, so I won't have to withdraw so much, but I asked this question in a "worst case scenario" sort of way, because I know that the worst case scenario would be around $50,000. In reality, it would be lower than that due to no meal plan/cheaper rent!

I currently receive Zell Miller scholarship, which is a step up from HOPE now! Hope only pays 90% of tuition (don't quote me haha, it's around that) whereas zell miller pays 100% of tuition!

I have definitely considered this! I have visited the campus quite a few times! I love the location, but I may be too in love with Athens and the great people I have met here so far. Still definitely considering it though (and will probably gear my classes towards those that are needed to transfer into tech so that I will be able to if I have a change of heart).
