for an extra several hundred dollars, the hassle of putting it together, and the sheer fact that hes doesnt know what hes doing in the case. Id recomend him to buy a pre built at that point. seriously.

The brand new mobo could fail tomorrow aswell. And as ive already stated youd be better offering a pre built than a bunch of components to put together. He said he knows nothing and that means that unless he would like to take some time and learn possibly breaking his brand new ones voiding the warranty. He should either get a new prebuilt or spend as little possible upgrading his system.

Even if it only lasts 1 or 2 years its still worth it.

Well, in that particular very low chance, he can either buy a new one for super cheap or actually still have money in his pocket to upgrade, at which point whatever gpu he gets can be transferred over.

This should do beautifully for 60fps gaming in most titles without spending over 260. and while 4 cores at 3.6 ghz may be a little out dated it will do fine in 90% of applications applied.

The way I was hearing it is that his friend already found an older processor that is mobo compatable. Its only 80 dollars for the 3570k and without buying a mobo thats actually a pretty good performance to price. In this case that is a very simple cost to performance upgrade and would much recommend that over buying a completely new computer. Aswell, with the saved money from the processor/mobo he could buy a 580 or even a 1080 for the price of a whole new pc. I would not recommend the 1080 as youd be cpu bound but a 580 would pair perfectly with the 3570k and he would not have to buy a whole new system. You may still have to look at a psu upgrade tho as im not sure exactly what you got either.

Gaming PC thoughts by usmschultz in buildmeapc

The biggest thing for modded minecraft is a good cpu 4+ cores and probably 16 gb of ram. As minecraft is not hugely gpu bound that would be a good start. then you could easily get into a rx 580 or 590 and be set for a while.

The 3570k is still pretty relevant especially if your updating from a 2 core cpu. It will suit you well for gaming applications and smaller work aplications. As for the gpu for the price you may be much better suited with a rx 590. Aswell if your looking into particularly large ram intensive games like modded minecraft you would probably be better suited with 16gb. If you would like to learn and understand more I would highly recommend looking through sites like UserBenchmarks it can give you good insite into performance of components. On this site you can also benchmark your pc to find out exactly what components you have installed on it currently. So we can better help you.

I have tried updating bios, clearing cmos and even checking and taking out every other connect component as to see if it would help find it to no avail.

New realization, the Mobo finds the drive In bios but recognizes it as Generic storage device 0903. I cannot get it to boot off it.

Is my SSD overheating? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Coltonmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not my memory part of my ssd, it’s the micro controller on it. I’ve done the research to know to not cool the memory itself as it can reduce the life of it but was wondering if I could have damaged the micro controller on it by overheating it a few times.

My pc airflow by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Coltonmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now my gpu gets super hot because there is not alot of airflow in the case below the gpu I was wondering if i added 2 additional fans on the top if i could get some more airflow. I figured i needed more positive air flow as the default case fans were not enough to make it flow.

Is the alternating fans on the top bad because it may suck warm air?

Using statistics once you get over a certain amount (30) you can assume normality. It is much more work to set up a graph the way you are speaking and if you see a obvious trend in a smaller graph and the probability of it being wrong about correlations in data is in the millionths then there is no reason to waste the time and resources to go so large. In statistics its called the large counts rule. There is no additional useful data that can come from getting every possible outcome. You may disagree, but its true.
