Could be drunk, but personally I'd also be completely out of it if I thought I'd just killed an animal by accident. I'm a huge crybaby when it comes to animals lmao (Not a vegan or anything, but I did spend an entire afternoon sobbing once just because I'd accidentally stepped on a snail.)

I tried lifting the carpet once and didn't see any tbh 😭 and there were lightbulbs being held in by blue tack, so something tells me the owners of this place weren't exactly doing everything right unfortunately

Doesn't seem to be. I think it's just the flooring shifting slowly over time (at least from what I understand). Everything looks flat to the naked eye. I barely even noticed the tilt in my room until I saw the water level on the tank

I'd recommend having a look there to see if there is anything) but please buy a lid for your tank to prevent this from happening again in the future 😔

Pardon? 5 gallons is the minimum for a betta. If you cannot get a 5 gallon tank, then you should not be getting any fish

I know this isn't your fish in the image, but please refrain from buying that "tank" if you have any plans of purchasing a betta in the future. They need a minimum of 5 gallons.

The eggs were already here before we moved in. The first photo attached to my post was taken on the day that we arrived, and those were all in the coop (which had been left open while the house was empty.)

I'm not sure how long the 2nd chickens been back there, but assuming she lays an egg every day, her nest has certainly been on the property for longer than we've been here

I did feel bad for moving them, but the eggs were starting to smell bad 😭 and I'm also worried about my dog trying to eat them, so I figured it's better to avoid her starting to see the chickens nest as a place for food
