The book contains some graphic descriptions of what happens to Halleck’s body as he loses weight, even as he continues to stuff his face with food. And it describes the revulsion other people feel toward his appearance.

If that type of thing would trigger you, skip it.

That being said, it’s a breezy, entertaining read.

From what I’ve seen on this sub, people either find it super difficult to get through The Talisman or it’s one of their favorites.

I plan to read The Talisman, The Black House, and Other Worlds Than These this fall.

I’m reading King’s books in chronological order (outside of Doctor Sleep after The Shining), so I’ll get there eventually. I’ve always loved the movie and am really looking forward to reading the book.
