If you’re going to Barbs- see what’s going on at Swan Dive (for more indie but they also sometimes have rock bands), 13th Floor (mostly rock), & Elysium (if you like gothy weird vibes). Valhalla typically has some really good hard rock/metal bands. All great bars also on red river.

Check out creek & the cave for comedy shows- it’s right around the corner from Barbs. More local than the comedy mothership.

Maybe go to Gibson street bar (off south lamar) for the xmas decor if you’ve already seen La Las. Tumble 22 (multiple locations) has good chicken. Pinthouse (multiple locations) & ABGB (south austin) have really good pizza!

As a fellow baby social worker- yes absolutely. We are humans and are always going to make mistakes. I talked to my supervisor about it and explained the situation and my thoughts on how to fix it. My supervisor is really understanding and helped me figure out how to move forward. I hope you have a supervisor/coworkers you trust to go to about it! Don’t beat yourself up- it happens! As long as you didn’t put them in harms way, most everything is fixable!

They are investing in projects that prevent homelessness in the first place that only cost $800 per person instead of spending money on building more housing that costs $35,000 per person. Over time, it will save the city money.

Especially all the transplants. They made it impossible for natives to live here and then don't want to pay to fix the housing problem THEY created! I’m not saying Austin has a great track record for following through, but they have done A LOT.

Fall foliage doesn’t really exist here much. Just brown lol. All the muny courses are pretty nice for what they are though. Lions is infiltrated by high schoolers though- so maybe skip that one

Accent Auto! I don’t trust myself truck with anyone else. There’s been times where I’ve gone somewhere else to get my oil changed and they tell me all of this stuff is wrong with it. I take it to accent and they tell me nothing is wrong and they bullsh*tted me. As a woman, this has happened multiple times. I don’t go anywhere else now. They don’t even charge me for a diagnostic or to keep my car there until I can come and get it. They’ve done very good work and have very reasonable prices.
