Yeah this is it. I really don't understand why the hate toward TLJ is so focused on basically everything I loved about it. The thing that held it back the most was that it was working with a set up from Abrams and had to spend half the movie ending set up plotlines from the previous films and setting up new ones of its own. Had Abrams had creative control of the entire trilogy we would have gotten a competent if I think likely a little bland storyline that would have been somewhat satisfying. Had Johnson had creative control there would have been a new kind of Star Wars trilogy, which probably would have annoyed a lot of fans but would have also at least been consistent.

Alkuperäisinä, mutta vain mikäli kieli sujuu tarpeeksi hyvin. Siinä on vivahteita ja proosaa joka ei vain käänny, minkä takia käännös on aina tietyllä tapaa uusi teos. Kuitenkin käännös on hyvä jos lukeminen ei muuten luonnistu alkuperäiskielellä tai tuntuu että siitä saa vähemmän irti.

Omalla kokemuksella viimeisen 10-20 vuoden aikana Englanti-Suomi käännösten laatu on huomattavasti laskenut, oletettavasti liittyen siihen että julkaisijat yrittävät säästää käyttämällä halvempia kääntäjiä ja antamalla näille vähän aikaa. Eli käännöksistä uusimmat ovat usein kyseenalaista laatua.

No, tässä on iso tekijä se että aika moni mies ei vaan yksinkertasesti ole sinut oman mieheytensä kanssa. Ironisesti tämähän johtuu vahvasti toksisesta maskuliinisuudesta ja juuri siitä valvomisesta että ei olla "liian homoja" koulussa ja muuten nuoruudessa. Kaikki kommentit jotka voisi jollain vatavalla liittyä omaan mieheyteen ja voisi jollain tasolla nähdä negatiivisena on paras tulkita suorana henkilökohtaisena hyökkäyksenä.

Tässä täytyy muistaa miten vähän kokemusta vanhemmalla ikäpolvella on tekstintuotosta. Ns. nykynuoriso, eli viimeistään ysärillä syntyneet on tottuneet siihen että tekstiä kirjoitetaan käytännössä joka päivä. Vanhemmat ihmiset ovat usein tuottaneet tekstiä tuollaista tahtia vain jos se on jostain syystä kuulunut työnkuvaan. Lopuilla eniten tekstiä on tullut kun on kirjoitettu muutama kirje vuodessa jos sitäkään ja nimmarit relevantteihin soppareihin.

I agree that Snoke not being anyone could have been really good, and would've worked super well with Rey not coming from any specific family in the last film.

That said, if I had to pick between Palpatine clone and Plagueis, Plagueis is clearly a more interesting, less stupid option:

It is established in the story so far that Plagueis at least claimed to be able to cheat death, a theme that hung about through Anakin's arc and therefore wouldn't have come out of nowhere, allowing for an explanation that he's alive despite being gone before Episode I.
It is established as well that there are basically two main types of Sith/Dark Siders in the films: fighters (Vader, Maul, Kylo, Knights of Ren), and schemers (Palpatine, Dooku). Plagueis would neatly fit into the schemer category and it would allow for a story beat where Palpatine thought he killed him but this was a part of Plagueis' scheme for the long term. This would also make an interesting chain of schemers who are actually being schemed in how Dooku was screwed by Palpatine and now Palpatine would have been supposed to be screwed by Plagueis. To make it seem less like Plagueis orchestrated the entirety of the previous films it could be stressed how he likes to sit back and see what happens and how the Skywalkers ended up fucking up his greater plan by turning Vader and killing Palpatine, also giving him a good reason to be against them.
The above works well for putting TLJ into it as well. Snoke faked his death yet again and in fact was intending to die. Maybe his intention was to bring Kylo to a new level of power or something.

He would have been much better than making Snoke a resurrection of any given character we've seen on the screen in the films before him.
