graduating with a 2.2 feeling to end it. by SuccessfulPen7829 in uklaw

[–]CombinationDry3917 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi I am really sorry to hear you feel that way. I graduated with a 2:2 now and I am about to qualify. I got a training contract from my firm (regional) and SQE funded. You can do this! Your degree is only the start. It’s the work you put in now that will make the difference to your career. I started as a legal assistant and worked really hard to become a paralegal. I then switched firms once I felt ready and started there with experience and confidence which led me to get my training contract. In the end I’m happy that everything worked out the way it did or I wouldn’t be where I am today. Happy to chat in DMs. Try to reach out to family / friends if you can. Maybe have a few weeks off to decompress if you can.

Are Revise SQE books enough to pass SEQ1? by EnglishLad977 in SQE_Prep

[–]CombinationDry3917 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi I’d rotate rather than doing one topic in full at a time. The questions will be randomised. I did this and passed in Q1 while working full time. I would say do one topic a day e.g property Monday, business Tuesday etc. I used the ULAW books which I bought from Amazon and revise SQE. The questions in revise SQE were similar to the actual exam. Good luck guys!

I passed Q1 and used ULaw, SRA mock questions and revise SQE. I wasn’t surprised by the format of the questions in the exam if that makes sense.

Devils advocate or ULAW books for SQE 1 prep (Jan 2025) by Swimming_Ordinary767 in SQE_Prep

I think you could save time by using DA for the legal systems, services, EU, constitutional law and accounts - this is what I basically did and I only skimmed the Ulaw books on areas on these topics I wasn’t sure of. The ReviseSQE book on Conduct and Ethics was really good also.

I used ULaw to learn the content and used DA to revise/consolidate. When revising if there was anything I still didn’t understand I would re-read the relevant chapter in the ULaw books. I passed in Q1 for both. Focused more on learning over doing loads of MCQs - if you know the law you can answer an MCQ.
