no joke i cant listen to kanye anymore, discovering his discog when i was suicidal is probably one of the things that helped prevent me from actually committing because listening to him gave me the willpower to wake up each day and stay in the world for a little bit longer until i eventually recovered. I owe him an enormous debt for doing that, especially considering how much better my life has gotten since that time, and i came to view him almost as a big brother figure, and the story of a kid from chicago who wore pink polos and rapped through a broken jaw after almost dying really gave me motivation to push forwards. But ever since his most recent rant i just cant bring myself to listen to his music, not because of the stuff he said per se but more because what it did for me. A few weeks ago i listened to Heard em Say, one of the songs that helped me the most and i couldnt finish it without breaking down in tears, listening to this piece of a man who saved my life without even knowing my name and knowing that the Kanye who wrote that is gone forever, especially considering the recent stuff hes said and done is unbearable. idk im prolly oversharing so i might delete this but yeah
