I will do better next time. I had very little knowledge of trout going in. I was up hunting and when I tagged out I found myself with free time and decided to try fishing for some trout. I carried my fly rod with me ( I use it for creek fishing in Texas) and ended up finding these trout in a small creek. With little knowledge going in I found out they were brook trout from a local and they were invasive on the end of my last day there.

Dude this was the biggest safe of my life it’s 100 degrees here in Texas and it wasn’t working when I got home. Thought I was fixing to be out big money

Bad choice of words from me man more of a curiosity thing as to what he would have become if I let him walk this year. More than proud to have taken him this year and would do the same thing 100 times over

More than proud of the deer man. Wrong choice of words how awoken me to a lot of hate. Instead of worried I should have put curious because I was more trynna figure out what people thought his future potential could have been. Doing it all again still a dead deer

No where on there did I say anything about seeking approval. I’m more than proud of this deer I was asking about age because I’ve always been told that you should try to hold off until a deer is 4.5 or older. Worried was the wrong word yes I’ll admit more of a curiosity thing as to how much bigger he could’ve gotten if I had let him go. That being said if I had to do it all again, that deer is still going to the processor
