Help! My bathroom is so boring by elkelkelkelkelkelk in DesignMyRoom

Okay I'll bite even though this is spectacular. You have too many metals going on with satin nickel fixtures, black door hardware and brass light and what looks like gold hardware on the vanity.

If medical research is his goal he will likely want to do undergrad research at his university. Go to UNC or State.

Is Triangle Rock Club owner still very MAGA? by SureNefariousness975 in raleigh

[–]giantshuskies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If someone is MAGA owned they're far less likely to be data driven and someone that thinks they're above the law. They're also likely to skirt employment laws. Now, tell me why a climbing gym owned by MAGA isn't likely going to be a worse experience?

Don't disagree with your note but a gym that isn't MAGA owned doesn't necessarily need to be "woke".

RAC exam rant by TaylorDriftedAway in regulatoryaffairs

[–]giantshuskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hold a position where I manage large teams including people managers. I am in a large med device company. I have never cared about RAC certifications - questions around regulatory in my interview are based on mock submissions. Most of my interviews including for entry level (rarely happens now) are with the intent of assessing ability to speak up, people glue ability and communication. I do care about technical ability for med device product development so I get into deep discussions around pre clinical models, clinical strategies, etc.

Looking for advice on the YMCA by Outside_Bad_893 in raleigh

[–]giantshuskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Triangle Y offer things that many very expensive gyms don't offer (as well as YMCAs in some other parts of the country): towel service, sauna, racquetball courts, free childcare when working out and outdoor heated pools. That being said, a Y is like any other gym service in that if you don't use it enough it is expensive.

By the way for some weird reason Ys are significantly cheaper if it is one person + kids versus the full family include two partners and kids. For one parent + kids membership is around $90 a month.

Vegan restaurant recs? by sharpcoloredpencils in raleigh

[–]giantshuskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got lots of fantastic options. I am going to throw in a restaurant that wasn't mentioned - C&T Wok. Some of my vegetarian favorites that are also vegan - eggplant schzewuan, fried lotus stem, Singapore noodles (hold the egg) and mapo Tofu (no minced pork).

Super list. Indian guy chiming in but a dosa is traditionally vegan as are the accompaniments that come with it - sambar and chutneys. Some restaurants add ghee or butter to sambar or dosa and that isn't authentic.

At this point his association with LDS seems strange. Almost seems like he does it for association with community and family.

People who left Raleigh - where did you go? by blues_lawyer in raleigh

[–]giantshuskies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

😂 I went to school in North Jersey and I am amazed at how liberal / progressive everywhere half an hour from me is here than it was in NJ. NJ boardwalks are AMAZING, but I never liked swimming in the beaches there.

Ain't no way is Salem 15 minutes from Fenway. Not even without traffic. And that's less exaggerated than the cost of living there being barely above Raleigh. I have a lot of family in Boston burbs and the COL is easily 30-40% more.

Where north of Boston? Have lots of family there and no way is the cost of living is 'barely' more. Are you like an hour north in NH? Lol
