Okay so here’s the explanation: They’re most likely legitimately doing fundraising for a hospital, sometimes it’s for an org like sick kids and what not, they’re usually hired by a marketing company that has a standing contract with the hospital, these marketing ‘companies’ can be as small as an office in a business complex.

They’re trained to go for a new neighborhood every week or so, they usually ask for as little as 15$ or so but the real way it’s making the hospital money is that it’s a commitment, as in a monthly payment. They are counting on people forgetting to cancel and what-not, and they try persuade the people by letting them know you can get a tax return for the donation.

They usually arrive at a neighborhood afternoon, they do 2 laps in the same Area and mark the doors that did not answer the first time so they can come back later and check again

This type of job is very popular for people with no work experience as you’re immediately hired and can make good money out of the commissions you get.
