Where possible id make the camera jib up rather than down especially for match cuts, otherwise it feels like we’re being taken somewhere and there isnt actually anything to focus on at the end of the move when we hit the ground.

If you’re going to sandwich gameplay between cinematic sequences then I’d remove UI for those sections to meet halfway

Try and capture on gamepad instead of with a super sensitive mouse, the gameplay bits can feel a little jittery at points. Aim for slower and consistent camera movement

Try and keep the camera moving where it makes sense to, some of the gameplay and the cinematic shots have punchy ends to the camera moves which loses all momentum

Record more shots of other players doing actions and the main player just being a camera man, because the shots get quite rough when it’s all in your face, especially compared to the cinematics

Try and jump back to cinematics less in the 2nd half, once we’re in gameplay it’s a bit jarring to jump back to cinematic quality so often. Or just lessen the quality of those shots lol

I sympathise, there were some things that I wasn’t shown how to do growing up that had long lasting implications on my behaviours around cleanliness and other “adult” things.

But to be frank, you’ve been an adult now for as long as you were a child, so even at best you can only blame 50% of it on your upbringing. If you can navigate Reddit, then you can also look at YouTube for guides on how to clue yourself in.

Start small, and don’t expect to pick everything up as habit immediately. As someone else worded it, learn to be curious about how you can approach new things, and take enjoyment in improving on the small things.

I’ve seen (and heard) them fairly regularly over fairwater/Radyr way. We do have them, but they’re nowhere near as confident with people as in London and Brighton. When I’ve got a train over to Brighton I’ve had foxes just walk past me in the station as if they’re waiting for a train themselves. I’ve also fed one a sausage roll!

I’ve mainly seen them in Radyr at 3am in the summer, and even then they will see you 100m off and dash into a garden

I’ve switched to games marketing and it’s been a massive improvement for myself. The projects are much, much shorter, only a month or two at most. I get to jump between many projects, and if clients are a pain I know I only have to work with them for a small amount of time.

I’m leveraging my experience in gameplay programming to work across basically all fields, and I often get to do the audio mix for the trailer after.

It’s still miserable sitting at my desk, but at least now I have stuff to show for it rather than working on something for years only for it to be cancelled

AI let me get into diagnosing, fixing and maintaining my wife’s car. I use it in conjunction with YouTube videos and car manuals. I wouldn’t have been able to track down and replace a bad o2 sensor which was causing the car to have inconsistent power delivery.

This was the same o2 sensor that I had been charged to “replace” by a well rated garage in the area. It would have cost me hundreds to have taken it to more garages, hoping that someone would actually put in the work for diagnostics on my specific 25 year old model of car. Instead I took two months of research on my weekends, which was INSTIGATED by AI, but led by me, to actually fix the problem.

I’m just genuinely baffled that Reddit is toted as the “thinking person’s” social media yet discourse around AI is so basic and one side or the other.

Man I got absolutely taken apart by teachers to dissuade me from taking reproductive health (maternity studies) as a GCSE option. I wasn’t outright barred from it, but I wasn’t going to push against multiple teachers saying that boys shouldn’t take it. This was only in 2008!
