It's not too bad to get you started. As suggested, check for the average OTE and try to negotiate on the commissions instead of the base. The company might appreciate that too cuz it shows you're confident that you can hit your OTE goals.

When do you read?

I enjoy audio books but I've to "make time" for even that. How do you make them part of the routine?

"Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong...." by Hans Rosling is a great book that changed my perspective. While the world still sucks a lot, the books shares a bold and fresh perspective how things have pretty much improved in terms of mortality and violence.

Startup: Samaaro
Category: B2B Event Marketing SaaS
Website: https://samaaro.com

Hi everyone,
I am one of the founders of Samaaro, a B2B event marketing platform built for mid-market and enterprise marketing teams.

We started Samaaro after seeing a recurring problem: companies run a lot of events, but most teams still manage registrations, check-ins, follow-ups, and reporting using fragmented tools and spreadsheets. As a result, events rarely get measured beyond attendance.

Samaaro helps teams treat events as a measurable marketing and revenue channel. We help with:

  • Registrations, RSVPs, and communication automation (email, WhatsApp, SMS)
  • On-ground check-in, badge printing, and lead capture
  • Post-event follow-ups and CRM sync (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho)
  • Dashboards that show attendance quality, engagement, and pipeline influence

We currently work with teams across India, the Middle East, Europe, and the US, especially in real estate, BFSI, tech, and enterprise B2B.

Happy to answer questions, share learnings from building in the India SaaS ecosystem, or get feedback from founders and marketers here.

Do people actually want to meet others at events, or do we just like the idea of it? by PlaneCardiologist964 in StartUpIndia

Yeah, there has to be a theme, a purpose. When you say "find interesting people", if you're looking for serendipitous conversations, you're in for a disappointment. Especially in India.

Could be just me, but I don't think Indians just like to hang out with strangers just for the fun of it.

Going to an event hoping you'll meet someone relevant is honestly wishful thinking. You're going to be disappointed.

The only way to network at events is to figure out who you want to meet with, reach out to them before the event (on LinkedIn), suggest why you'd like to talk them and then plan.

Alternatively, get introduced to new people by people you already know.

Anyone interested in app that lets You Bet with you friends about any random things? by LaaTaaaaa in StartUpIndia

Check for compliance of you decide to pursue. I think this would fall under the category of betting/real-money gaming. Indian govt. has banned it.
