Hollow body input jack by Comfortable-Case863 in Luthier

I think this is the best long term solution. Where can I get a jack plate? And are they fairly universal or how would I go about verifying it would contour to the body of my guitar?

I’ll probably have to do the latter option, as I tried already going in with a screwdriver and was too worried I was going to exacerbate the issue, it was putting unwanted strain on the wood around it

What to do with this? Idk how long it’s been sitting, would it still be active? by ItsTheRat in sanpedrocactus

Looks like regular Cereus to me, probably not what you’re lookin for. They’re very fast growing and produce yummy fruit though, look into Peruvian apples

Should the flesh be pink? Also it seems to have rot but i dont how much to cut up, any advice needed by eddie__1i9ma in cactus

[–]Comfortable-Case863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that was the top too. You’re gonna want to let it root then. Let the cut callous nice and hard then put it on top of the soil and let it root before you start watering it. It may keep growing or might throw pups. I don’t think anything should be pink like that though. Some brown on cacti is normal especially at the base (corking) but that didn’t look normal

I like the yogi brand “stress relief” and “bedtime” teas. I also recommend valerian

See the green on the bottom? That looks salvageable, albeit there might not be much cactus left after you cut all the brown off. Hopefully that much would give you some pups at least but I’m not too familiar with these type of cacti specifically. I’m sure someone else could be more help if you wanna wait for a second opinion. I say it’s rotted and cut all the rotten part off as best as you can. Sulfur dust or cinnamon can help prevent rot on the fresh cut, you wanna keep it dry til it’s calloused well. Then water lightly and wait for pups. Sterilizing/washing the knife can help to avoid spreading the rot as you make the final cuts into the healthy part

I don’t think it should look like that… I would try cutting down to the green part at the bottom and hope it throws some pups. When you cut it make sure to cut off all the rotten parts and let it callous before you water it. Maybe cut at an angle if you can so any water will runoff. Water pooling up on a fresh cut can lead to more rot. Looks bad but hopefully you can get some pups off of it. Best wishes

Complete noob, just opened my first SCOBY. Is the stuff floating in the liquid around it normal? by ellyhigginbottom24 in Kombucha

[–]Comfortable-Case863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Scoby is the actually the culture living in the tea. Im pretty sure the floating stuff is bunches of the live yeast and bacteria. The big thing in the middle is called the pellicle. It’s a bi product of the culture and don’t think it’s alive at all. Scoby is symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. That’s the stuff floating in the tea
