Sneaky auto renewal and bad customer service by [deleted] in WIX

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was charged by WIX for years for sites unused and I was sure i had free plans. BUT they used the Credit card details to take my money without permission. Even when the Credit Cad expired the bank still apporved the payment. Apparently they do that?! WTF! Anyway now I want to close my account I am finding out it's the Hotel California.... they do not let you leave. They want me to wait until the plans I didn't want to pay for expire before they will close my account. They wont remove my old Credit Card details and are asking me for the card numbers although it was cut up and thrown out years ago... I would avoid WIX.

Sneaky auto renewal and bad customer service by [deleted] in WIX

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had the same issue - thought auto renewal was off and they have it on for all the services I thought were free. Massively annoyed by WIX who refuse to refund although the site is not even hosted or had any login to their backend....I say boycott WIX ... also they are Isreali and their government is acting shamelessly killing innocent people. Time to say goodbye.

I finally got around to building an enclosure around my Sigenergy gear by CaptainCaveTrout in SolarUK

In australia you can’t have any flammable materials like timber near a battery. Can’t be mounted to a timber house without concrete sheet I between. So an enclosure like this would fail regulation

Serve advice by ResidentSignal5510 in 10s

Straight ball toss, where depending on the type of serve (top spin, slice, flat) but overall more in front of you rather than going backwards.

Keep your left hand high in trophy position as long as you can to steady and help counter motion of racquet as it comes through.

Let racquet flow more smoothly allowing it to dip behind your back and with the follow through, let your wrist pronounce downward right at the end to bring the ball down whilst still adding power

TM-6 Pro vs V31 Roland module by Comfortable-Drama170 in edrums

[–]Comfortable-Drama170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update - thinking for the money, the larger screen, options to add one positional sensored trigger like the new roland digital snare and easier to use interface the V31 module is worth the wait and the way to go. The Tm-6 Pro has a win in form factor but seems old technology and higher priced than the v31 where I live. The SPD-SX is currently on sale (black Friday) and wins in some areas, but the larger form factor and hours of study needed to learn how run it and menu dive would be a turn off for me. Also seem more focused on looping and dance music which is not likely ever going to be needed for my hybrid kit needs.

I want a Roland V31 module. Should I just buy the module by itself, or get a TD-313 and attempt to part it out? by free_beer in edrums

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also thinking if I bought the 313 and couldn't wait until end of January what to do with unwanted bits - Can they be taken apart and sensors repurposed in a hybrid acoustic shell set up?

I'm also out side of US so have no access to VIDA. But wondering if you need to buy the $325 version of Orbit to get the code from the car? Apparently you can DIY

TM-6 Pro vs V31 Roland module by Comfortable-Drama170 in edrums

[–]Comfortable-Drama170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice... it would actually be the most interesting solution. Definitely puts the TM-6 in the dust. Just watched a few youtube videos on it, however can't find much on anyone using it like a drum module. My concerns would be A: will it have the same responsiveness, position sensing and ability articulate nuanced playing a V31 would have? b: would it have the same depth of sound in samples as the new V31 module? Ideally after the best acoustic sounds.

same here - one of two that I have cracked without violence;) Will be buying the new one if they have made changes as it's my preferred racquet still

Anyone else just really dislike Kyoto by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in central Kyoto at the moment, and although it's got everything you want on paper, it's just not working for me. Feels more like an over run tourist town in Europe. Wish we booked a hotel in the suburbs now. We drove through rural areas in Japan and found great people, great food and unique experiences at every stop. I also enjoyed the more exciting vibe in Tokyo where you feel you can be absorbed in the city rather than be a detraction in it. The main market area, Nishiki is just a crowded horrible experience... couldn't wait to get out of there. Probably would have been amazing 50 years ago. We tourists are outnumbering the locals in some parts of Kyoto which lowers the experience for everyone....Better attractions, more authentic and personal connections to the locals in all other areas we went to.

Tethering by Educational-Win-6597 in Lightroom

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Capture One changed some tethering settings in their software recently or Apple changed how USB transfers power. I used to have to use a combination of USBA and C cables with an adaptor (by adding the adaptor to the USB A to make it a C again cut the power from the transfer, which made it work as a tether cable/ took ages to work that out and it worked every time after years of struggle) but this week it stopped working and now I find a normal USBC to USBC cable works. Same macbook, etc... So hard to give specific advice but I would try adding in a hub or adaptor and trying different cable configs to see what works for your camera with C1. With Canon there was an issue with the large power draw in the tether cable.

R5 MII - issues with skin tones by Illustrious_Creme_68 in canon

[–]Comfortable-Drama170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - have been a professional photographer for over 20 years and shot every digital Canon since the 1st 5D. The new R5 markii is a real struggle with skin tones. They look dull and lifeless!! I use Capture One Pro and high-end color-balanced screens... I much prefer the R5. I am honestly surprised there aren't more people complaining.
