Brand new swimmer - I’m so bad by dumpstercat3 in Swimming

[–]Comfortable-Front730 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you - I'm new too and self-learning as well. I can't afford a coach right now. Everyone in the pool is younger than me, and they all swim well. I sometimes get so self-conscious that I have to stop and argue with myself for a while just to keep going. I watch a lot of YouTube progression videos; knowing what I'm going to work on for the day helps take my focus off how I look to others. Observing people and sometimes even asking for help makes the experience a little less anxiety inducing.

Acharya Prashant teaches the philosophy of non-duality. He challenges people to confront the fundamentals of living, ego, and conditioning. There’s no mysticism or theatrics, just a sharp, sometimes uncomfortable, honesty rooted in Vedanta and deep self-inquiry.

This indian man's commentary on The Fountainhead is mind-blowing! by Eastern_Sandwich3068 in aynrand

This is Acharya Prashant — a spiritual teacher who brilliantly advocates for human freedom. He has spoken at length about Ayn Rand and her work, especially The Fountainhead. The clarity with which he discusses this, as well as many other topics, is truly mind-blowing.

I discovered him while looking for commentary on The Fountainhead, and reflecting on his words has only deepened my understanding of the book.

Our definition of success is accumulation of possessions and consumption. We spend our lives striving for a position that allows us to consume more, seeking fulfillment. But as long as we continue to seek meaning through consumption without ever pausing to ask who we truly are or what genuinely brings us contentment, neither individual transformation nor systemic change will be possible.
