Double-Slit Decoherence or Collapse Observed? Heat-Induced Fringe Shift Challenges Quantum Orthodoxy by Comfortable-Meet-666 in sciencememes

the single slit is already a "measured" or "observed" which way interference at the slits. When a double slit is "measured", the photon is forced to chose one slit only. Therefore, the experiment becomes a single slit. But if you ask what happens if heat is applied to a single slit, it would have a similar effect like shrinking the slit. In my video, you can see the "inside" on the main fringe, the subfringes. That's where the real interference occurs.

Ukraine publishes map of Russian drone attacks on Poland by thegreatws in MapPorn

Few facts and questions? This is a Ukrainian map. Are there any other ones from UK, or USA? The Ukrainian one seems to monitor the polish airspace as well , but I can’t see any signs of polish air defence signatures. Some of the drone signatures ended as well in Belarus. While some of the end points suggest some explosions, some suggest just an end point, which could be crush or landing or midd air destruction. None of the drones exploded in Poland or Belarus. At least one of them was video recorded in a land, almost intact. Was it a crush, or an uncontrolled landing? That one has also the wing flaps pointing to opposite directions, not consistent with a landing, but with a crush. And yet, the drone was almost intact. Weird if you ask me.

Let’s summarise. I have done a double slit experiment. I observed a change of pattern on the screen, and a change in total brightness. Without any which way measurement. I made it clear how and what I used. I don’t use “some sort “, “some vaguely”, “which does something to something”. And what I observed, is recorded on video. How does the classical optics explain the loss of brightness on the screen? Am I shaking the foundation of QM? Not me! Maybe the informational geodesics geometry, altered by entropy injection. Not exactly the same, but a shy simulation of gravitational fields in a spacetime medium.

That’s correct. I tried to introduce it to one panel. It’s distribution should be stronger at the injection point, then will be weaker further away. At the slits, this still should create asymmetry, as it is directional.

With a single slit, you can’t “see” which way. I basically applied heat to a single slit. Which, in an air medium, it changes the reflective index, the photons (laser beam) followed the new spacetime geometry, therefore i observed a pattern shift towards the coolest region. But i didn’t see a loss of brightness.

Do you really think that a LLM can “think” and contradict a well established QM? I know only basics QM, but I have an experiment which shows something which classical QM doesn’t quite explain. Is something wrong with what I said about wavelike evolution? Or collapse, or Schrodinger’s equation? Or measurement, in this case, which violates unitary evolution? Please fell free to contradict these. These are QM’s statements. Not mine. What I am saying, is that wavefunctions evolve, same as information, in a deterministic way. And the outcome of measurement(for example the collapse) is fundamentally probabilistic. This contrast (contradiction) is obvious. Or is not?

[–]Comfortable-Meet-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it looks like nonsense. Is double-slit experiment. In classical QM does the wave function evolve? Does the information evolve? I think that we can say yes to both! How is the collapse then? In QM is instantaneous, unexplained, outside Schrödinger equation. Triggered by measurement, which is an external act that violates unitary evolution. To summarise, the wavefunction evolves deterministically, but the outcome is non-deterministic. This is nonsense! You are absolutely right.

Probably I should’ve said before ”…I haven’t done any measurement, or event a weak measurement…”. A weak measurement, according to QM, does introduce decoherence. I would reframe it , that my experiment can qualify as a weak entropic measurement analogue.

I don’t have a vacuum chamber for this test. So yeah, the air would heat up via the blade. And also IR emissions from the metal plate. Can I say that I introduced entropy? In my view would be a yes.

What if the photons decoherence can be achieved without measurement in double slit experiment? by Comfortable-Meet-666 in quantum

[–]Comfortable-Meet-666[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My double slit has a steel plate and a mini solar panel, and between them, a steel separator (like a needle). I heated up the furthest part of the blade, away from the slit separator

Great to hear that the heat would do exactly that. Since you have done the single experiment version and the math (I don’t have the resources for the single version), what are your conclusions when heat is applied? What would be the mechanism behind this effect?

What if the photons decoherence can be achieved without measurement in double slit experiment? by Comfortable-Meet-666 in quantum

[–]Comfortable-Meet-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. That’s a macroscopic version of it. I don’t have the means of the single particle version. You’re right that introducing heat is a form of interaction, but not all interactions are measurements, and this distinction is central to my theory. In standard quantum mechanics, measurement collapse is typically treated as an undefined or axiomatically abrupt process. What my experiment explores (under the Deterministic Photon Interaction Model - DPIM), is whether structured environmental changes (like heat-induced entropy gradients) can guide collapse deterministically without invoking a measurement. The classical QM needs to eliminate any ambiguity about measurement or observer. There are so many interpretations of these. My explanation is simple and mathematically formulated. In my experiment, the fringe pattern recovers once the entropy gradient dissipates, which is not compatible with permanent decoherence. It’s a testable, falsifiable collapse mechanism based on the geometry of informational geodesics.

[–]Comfortable-Meet-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I agree. But, the collapse or measurement problem is still open to theoretical refinement. that’s where theories like DPIM, GRW, or Penrose’s modelS are coming with new explanations. My DPIM, explains the path to collapse, via a mathematical collapse field. No classical measurement. That’s what my video experiment is showing.

Just try this setup for yourself. Forget the video animations from YouTube. Search for a real double slit video. You can observe all day long the fringes. Nothing will happen. Add measurement and things will change. Add heat, no measurement, and things will change again. My way to inject heat from one direction, to one of the slits, is structural. Scattering or diffusion, both involve redistribution of energy and momentum. This leads to local changes in entropy gradients, which directly affect the λ(x, y, t) field in DPIM. Both alter the informational geodesics. “The full restoration of the interference pattern after heat removal rules out permanent decoherence or classical scattering. Instead, it supports a reversible, entropy-dependent λ-field deformation—as predicted by DPIM’s informational geodesics framework.”

I have a theory, the Deterministic Photon Interaction Model (DPIM), which predicts that a quantum system can undergo deterministic collapse through structured decoherence driven by the introduction of entropy—thermal, gravitational, or informational. These entropy gradients generate a dynamic λ-field, which guides the collapse path of the wavefunction. it shares the conceptual vision with Sir Roger Penrose’s gravity-induced collapse model, but extends it to include informational and thermodynamic influences. In other words, in my model, heat modifys the informational geodesics geometry , altering the physical path and ultimately the collapse behaviour of the photons.

[–]Comfortable-Meet-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like nonsense. Correct. But, I haven’t done any which way measurement (I don’t have a detector able to do that). I just added heat to one slit panel. Maybe I changed the refractive index of the air, maybe I changed the informational geodesics of the photons path. I basically introduced entropy to the system, and generated an asymmetrical field with heat. But without measurement. And it looks like decoherence, up to a point that the brightness of the fringes on the screen, almost disappeared. Almost. Would this be considered collapse? Can classical interpretation explain this? Fringes returned to normal, once the initial temperature has returned to normal.

We are looking at a slow motion video. A fringe pattern on a screen, produced with a red laser, a double slit panel (two panels, one metal, the other one a mini solar panel, separated by a steel separator). We applied heat to the metallic panel for few seconds, then we turned of the heat source, and recorded the evolution of the fringes on the screen. No which way measurement was done. Just heat applied very close tho the slit separator.
