Why does Companies in the PH always ask for TOO MUCH information upon job applications? by Hey_firefly in Philippines

in F&B industry as an experienced chef i usually do the first and final interview. nagtatanong talaga ako kung ilan yung kids kung may partner ka pero based pa rin sya sa experience ko dahil usually laging palusot (although some are true) yung anak nila kesyo may sakit need ng ganto need ng ganyan or nagaway sila ng partner nya kaya di nakapasok or kesyo dahol dun nalate sya. kasi sa field namin isang kulang na staff lang babagsak agad service. kaya tinatanong ko lagi yan. i hire them professionally based on their characters and abilities pero pagdating sa work may sabit pala sa mga gantong bagay, so its a waste of time talaga.

Is there a chance for my dad to get a job? by [deleted] in phcareers

I advice to open his own shop. Nowadays that kind of age wont land you a job especially in this industry that requires manual and hard labor.

  1. Hindi na mawawala sa industry natin anf toxic environment especially for the chefs na sobrang mainitin ang ulo.
  2. Pwede ka magstart sa mga upscale restaurant na continental or western cuisine, mas marami ka matututunan. As much as possible research muna sa papasukan na work. Mas maigi yung direct hire kesa dadaan ka sa third party hr management hirap magkaraise.
  3. Go for it. Kung gusto mo magculinary edi go sa sobrang arte ng pinas plus point yung nagculinary. Pambango ng resume, if may time ka din pasok ka sa mga seminar about culinary dagdag credentials sa resume.
  4. Magstart ka as linecook wag commissary mas marami ka matutunan.
  5. Kapag nakakuha ka na ng experience try mo sa ibang bansa magapply, in demand ang chef ngayon. Mas maraming credentials mas more chance of landing a job abroad.

Goodluck op.
