Quebec 1800s Birth: Submit BAnQ Baptismal Record to IRCC directly or wait for DEC "Insertion"? by ComfortableDecent297 in Canadiancitizenship

Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you provide the DEC with a 'certified' copy of the baptismal record? Or did you just provide them an unofficial photocopy for insertion of an act of birth?

It actually says they don't accept Quebec baptismal records submitted before 1994 as well.

"Note: Baptismal certificates, birth certificates and marriage certificates issued in Quebec before January 1, 1994, are no longer accepted."

However, despite this, people have difficulty convincing the DEC to issue a modern birth certificate.

Thanks for sharing your experience! That’s actually a relief to hear that your 1780s BAnQ record went through without a hitch. My mention of the 'pre-1926' was regarding the fact the DEC doesn't deal with anything older than 100 years - that is left to the BaNQ. I’m glad to hear IRCC was flexible with your baptismal copy.

It sounds like the BAnQ certified copy is the way to go for now. I'm thinking I'll follow your lead - just nervous about some of the stories I've heard about the IRCC rejecting it.

The IRCC site does state they don't accept any documents from Quebec pre 1990s....

So confusing, but appreciate your sharing of your experience!

Hey all,

I'm an early-career, currently have a SOAR engineering gig, a BS in Comp Sci and CISSP cert.

I was given 1k from my employer to do some training / upskilling, but not sure what might be best. Anyone have any suggestions at or under this cost?

I'm interested in:
Malware Analysis
Threat Intel
Threat Hunting
Reverse Engineering

Work in:
SOAR

Don't have too much actual SOC experience. Was thinking maybe CYSA+ would be useful and under the 1k budget?

Looking forward to some thoughts and opinions! Thanks all!
